Nah. Gon is far far far away from the innocence people see in this arc breaking. He is not. He is okay in seeing people dying so long as their affiliations to him is a mere stranger but he's a monster who kill for those he knows. This is the true morality of Gon.

I think I was too young to understand how sad these moment were when i first watched it... All I saw was that Kite was gone and that Gon was in rage but I didn't see all the pain around, like how Killua suffered.... AMV like this are real eyes opener

lovely comment, and so true. Great AMVs such as this one really manage to bring light to the pain Gon, Killua, all the characters, really, had to go through. Each one had their own problems, each one chased their own solutions, but in the end, they all were suffering to the very core.

It's not just a rage .. it tells us how well-written hxh and Gon's character are .. bisky once said that Gon's pureness will be the reason of his fall .. and that's true , world is too harsh to live in with such a pure innocent soul .. that's why Gon choses to reject reality , but then it slaps him hard he can't see clearly and then he took all the blame on himself with a part of him blaming pitou too .. Gon is such a great realistic character, and he's still a kid who's still growing up ..for me he never changed once ..

Gon is definitely top 10 best protagonists in anime in my opinion, such a pure character that is consistently growing and reaching new limits. And this scene where his anger allows us viewers to take a glimpse at such a profound level of strength Gon is yet to grow into. By far one of the best rage scenes in anime, simply because unlike animes like DBZ the tipping point of his anger doesn't necessarily make him turn up, instead it shows how all of the innocence and control just leaves his body leaving his body and allowing it to be sucked and overcome by an abyss of darkness necessary for the one purpose he had at that moment
