But afterwards Ging occupies the father slot as Gon finds him, but Netero is no longer in the hero slot, either representing his death or the fact that at the series' end he acted as more of a monster than the king.

It's scary to think, that a 12 year old child, who witnessed so much, made his choice to accept his death whilst making his contract of immense power, all for a man who of course, helped him but what would he do if he lost someone like Killua? Kite was a mentor but we only knew him for so long before he died. Gon has known Killua from the start. He chose his selfish needs to crush the one who so personally hurt him instead of the world. Gon is a truly scary protagonist at heart and the dark and gritty undertones of this anime make me love it. Don't fuck with nice guys :')

Gon is a scary and terrifying protagonist. Do you remember what the Zepile, the professional appraiser said? To paraphrase, he said that Gon is a powerful and scary guy. He is straightforward, honest but didn't scold Zepile for making forgeries. In fact he was intrigued and thought it was cool. And that he is the type of person who doesn't care about good or bad, just about what interests him and what he likes. Now this is what makes Gon and great hunter and helped him pass the last test of the hunter exam. And this quality is what he inherited from Ging. Gon was already going down a psychotic path anyways, since he's friends with an assassin. He even sits in the same position as Meruem and Hisoka. Funny thing is, I think his father knew that Hisoka was going to end up fighting him regardless of where they went, who they faced or what crossed their path. Gon has somewhat adopted the murderous behavior of two of the most dangerous villains in the entire show. Meruem being the first. So when he lost his cool, a chill ran straight down my spine. I never knew that pissing off an angry kid with Nen abilities could be both surprisingly cool and scary at the same time.

I think little kids are usually like this. destroy or brake or take something away from them and they'll get mad at you. they'll rage at you. not having a friend like killua influenced him to be more psychotic because killua doesnt go crazy. he acts like a normal kid until he kills someone and even then hes back to normal when thats over. The Chimera Ant Arc, said to be one of the greatest Hunter x Hunter arcs in the entire series. Truth be told, it is. It showed us that even things not considered "human" can get human emotions and things considered "human" can become something...not. In every anime arc, there usually is a definite "Good Guy" and a definite "Bad Guy". But for this arc? No. There is no boundaries anymore. And then its followed up by one of the most boring arcs in the series(so I've heard). Also, amazing song, it gave me chills repeatedly.

Ehhh I liked it~ It wasn't hype in the same way but it was fun to see so many characters from past arcs return all united by the mission to heal Gon~ And it was a really good arc development wise for Killua and you got to meet Alluka and the scenes with them were so emotional and sad. Everything after the election itself is over was just bittersweet cause you can tell it's ending, but I do like that the discussion Gon had with Gin that kind of hinted at the Dark Continent arc in the manga. And honestly it was one of the most fast paced arcs in the whole anime. As long as you're invested in the characters themselves and not just epic fights imo it was still a really enjoyable arc. Plus the Zodiacs remain really relevant in the manga after they're introduced, so it was a good arc to introduce all of them. And it was fun to see Hisoka do stupid things to piss of Illumi so he couldn't kill Gon. And Leorio became a little more relevant after being gone most of the anime. And there actually WAS a really epic fight between Hisoka and Gotoh. And Canary is best girl. And Damn I wish the anime would come back . . .

First, I hope everyone’s family is managing through the chaos from Corona and the rioting. Im praying for everyones safety. I’m not gonna lie, I was skeptical that you’d be able to hit the emotional points while dealing with the major tone shift the anime has in its final arc. I never doubt your rhyme scheme or flow so I won’t touch on those. The instrumental is absolutely perfect, and the way your cadence picks up as the strings ascend in the end is genius. The way he’s genuinely sorry in the hook drills home who he is as a good friend who lost his innocence. The hook also hits different as it goes on which is a mark of impact. The way the verses descend from a honorable to regretful to rage is perfect. It feels like gospel, it feels sad. It’s clever and up there with Kirishima rap (the most relatable character in the show). Not all of your raps hit the emotions as perfectly as this one, and listening to your old music shows how far you’ve come as far as embodying a character’s complex emotions not just rapping about cool stuff they did. Its more like he's just got a very simplistic standard. Gon doesn't really... Well "plan" all that much, but he does have a few hyper-specific hangups, mostly to do with liars. Like he still gives them the opportunity to be honest and shoot straight with him. They only die AFTER they broke the rules. Which is kinda fair, Gon deals with so much powerful opposition that "My enemy lied" usually means you're about to die. I think once you're in the general neighborhood of Gon's powerlevel, "KOS" is probably the first, last, and Only sane response to extremely powerful opponents deceiving you.

He truly cares about Killua but at that moment when he saw Pitou his anger just took over and Killua knew it but it still made him break in pieces, he tried to remind himself that Gon didn't mean what he said. He never said that in the manga the anime actually changed what he really said for whatever fuckin reason, in the manga he simply said that Killua wasn't as attached to Kaito as he was and that's why he didn't lose it like Gon did, which isn't offensive in the slightiest, plus he was completlely right with that anyways since Killua selfish and toxic ass wasn't giving two shit about Kaito and never did care about him at all lol and it shows, or at least not in the emotional sense that's for sure, the very rare time where he showed that he somehow cared a little about him was just for pleasing Gon.

And also "you take it easy killua" and "you ain't as attached to Kaïto that's why you ain't concerned the way i am" are quite different tbh, there is no sarcasm here, the way he say it in the original manga pannel tell you that Gon *ain't* tryna to be harsh or anything, that's not he's point, but just to tell he's friend the reason of why he's just standing here and so neutral, Gon didn't think Killua was wrong (since he know he ain't for just having a natural reaction), he just stated why he believe Killua had that behavour at that time, that's all. Meanwhile the unnecessarily false anime translation seem to tell you that Gon straight up doesn't try to understand why he's friend is so calm and indifferent in the slightiest and just want to blindly bash him, there a significate difference here. And Gon during the entiere show constantly cared about Killua, like bro even if you didn't read all the original panels of the author you should obviously know that. Gon after witnessed to the monstrosity and atrocity that happened to Kaïto, the one and only true father he had he's entiere life (chapter 222 / Ep 95), promised on he's life that he will either make Pitou make Kaïto comback to he's normal state, or if not possible kill here for redeeming himself, (and also stop Pitou by the same occasion of course), and if he wanted to do that alone is because he didn't desire the same thing or something far worst to happen to Killua, and ending feeling also responsable for the lose of a another dear one of him again. At the end of the day he put Killua away fundamentally for protecting him, by he's own way keeping him safe from a similar tragedy, Gon by taking on Pitou and murdering here at Peijin literally saved both Killua and the the rest of the groupe's ass from a fast or painfull dead. (there is a reason of why he was pretty much considered as a hero by Nov and all the others Hunters), Gon cared about Killua as much as Killua did for him, even during the Pitou confrontation, Gon did so much and gone throught so much shit for he's friend, and btw Gon never fought Pitou with the the idea of avenging Kaïto, he opossed here because of the reasons that i already montioned before that were either : demanding here to make Kaïto comback to life or if not possible (which he was partially 100% sure but he still gave here the benifict of the doubt by waitng during the period of time she asked for) redeeming himself and stopping Pitou from assaulting and killing him and the the rest of the groupe too. Gon never had the attention to do it just for revenge, it wasn't he's initial objective, anyways were gonna stop here cause i think more than enough was said lol

What's so powerful about this rap, is that throughout the entire anime, you never hear Gon's thought process unless he explains it out loud. So this really gets into the inner conscious of Gon, which requires a lot of empathy and nuance to pull off. Truly a great piece of work

[SPOILERS] maybe.. I love how the last arc of hxh the monsters aka the chimera ants and the humans, the hunters, slowly alternate. For example Meruem and Gon, Meruem starts a monster who will kill anything who breathes the wrong way and near the end becomes more and more human as for Gon who is a sweet loving kid slowly losses his emotions and is blinded by rage and hate and wants nothing but revenge for kite. this raps more than a year old now but i just realised that at 0:56 when dps says "father" its blank because we hadnt seen ging yet and when he says "hero" it shows netero as he was the one who was supposed to beat meruem. now im sure many people noticed this one, but the one that i think people missed is that at 2:18 when he says "father" we see ging and when he says "hero" its neteros screen thats blank (because he died) which means that now dps is talking about after the chimera ant arc
