I've been metal detecting for 11 years and haven't found anything worth a damn. Cleaned a bunch trash out of the earth though. I guess that's good enough.

That’s how I am after listening to a friend of mine who told me there was gold in the creek behind my house. Well I’d be damned I got three chunks of crystallized placer gold in quartz. I let him have the one he pulled out. He was asked every day up to the day cancer took his life. I’ll get the rest out with in time. I’m In no hurry

Sorry to hear about your mom Jim. I lost my sister on my birthday. When I was a teenager back in the 70’s I bought a cheap metal detector at Radio Shack. I searched around the sidewalks in the apartment complex I lived in in Kingsport Tn. I found enough silver coins to pay for that detector twice over. I was hooked. Not long after that I got married and moved to southwest Virginia. My father-in-law and I were digging a hole for my power pole for my mobile home. I look down and thought that was a silver dollar laying there. I was wrong. It was an 8 Reales silver coin, 1829. I did the research of who lives there and it’s so happen to be a confederate who is log cabin hadn’t been burned down in 1864.. they burned him out because he had shot a union soldier so the union soldiers retaliated and burned his place down with him in it. I never gave this much thought until I found a spot down close to the river where I found six union soldiers uniform buttons in a row. I had found a grave of that union soldier.

You are the only person besides myself that I have ever heard of whose mother died on their birthday. My condolences brother. My mother passed Oct. 08 2012. It was my 35th. It made celebrating difficult for awhile. Now I celebrate Her life and the life she gave Me.

Condolences Brother. My Dad just just passed April 2nd @ 90, and I'm broken. No matter how old they are when they pass, it seems like it's never long enough to share them. I'm broken. If we don't mention them, no one would know who they were or anything about them. By mentioning their name or telling a funny story or a little something about them, you introduce them to others who normally wouldn't have met them any other way. Keep introducing your Mom to others & thank you for introducing her to me. God Bless you & what's left of your family. 🥰😍😘

@@anthonydipippo380 I still use my mother's phrases. My kids are grown now but when they complain, I say what she use to say to Me, "You still have all your arms and legs, what are You complaining about?" She was awesome. You are correct. It's never enough time. I wish I had spent my younger years a little more thoughtful. Im trying to do it now with others. I think your content is great. Im glad I found it. Take care

@@Brando_Magnifico That's awesome. I don't know if your kids got to meet her, because as odd as that seems, my Dad's father died when he was 12. So he barely had a childhood, as he had to go to work being the oldest of 3 bothers & earned 15c a day to help out. He never go to go to a trade school or anything substantial due to his Dad's early passing. I never got to meet my Grandfather. It's funny your Mom used to say "you have your arms & legs" because unfortunately, I'm a 911 first responder, volunteer. I was a crane operator for 7 years down at ground zero & developed blood clots in my lung & heart. hat in turn blocked blood flow to my aorta, then iliac & femoral arteries. I wrote to Obama & every other crooked politician here in NY. I ended up losing both legs, rt 2014 & lft 2018. I came straight to this rehab center in 2018 & never went back home. The last time I saw Dad was my birthday 2 years ago, he came for 15 minutes, he hated seeing me like this. He gave me a kiss & said he would call me. We spoke every night since then unless there was a Giants game. He would get angry if anyone called during his football days & games. None of the politicians helped me, I still have all the letters from them, all bullshit. April 2nd his heart gave him problems & he passed, we buried him April 5th. I'm all messed up. I'm 56 with no family. :( Anyway, they wrote a book about my Dad & his band of brothers. He was dropped behind enemy lines in Berlin, Germany. After 25 years they declassified their mission & the book is named Special Forces Berlin: Clandestine Cold War Operations of the US Army's Elite, 1956-1990. Hug your kids & cherish what you have in life. I never had kids, I was too busy chasing fortune. I invented Pen Fishing Rods, mini fishing rods disguised as a pen. Take care of yourself & enjoy your life, thanks for introducing me to your Mom. :)

Man that is quite the timing on his mother passing... Any other week would have alright, but it had to be right at that moment. Maybe she was looking out for him. Spanish gold is known to drive people insane, maybe she knew that too many more would have destroyed him, just like winning the lottery does to some people. She knew to allow him just enough to be happy and prosperous, but not so much to destroy his soul.
