This is the first time I’ve ever seen these artists. I was watching thinking wow they are really amazing and singing with feelings. It’s almost like they’re really feeling these feelings toward each other. Then I read the comment section and read they were a real couple, and I was like oh wow, this is brilliant. You usually don’t see artists do real breakup songs together probably because the pain is too real and raw. This is the beauty of genuine heartbreak molded into a masterpiece.

My wife of over 36years passed away over 19 months ago. I thought the day she passed was the worst day of my life,I was so wrong the days, weeks, months got worse. Now after a year and a half I still find myself waiting for her to call or walk through the door. I see her beautiful face in my dreams and in pictures but around the 1 year mark I charged her phone to look at some more pictures and found videos and heard her voice for the first time in a long time and it broke me big time. She suffered a massive stroke in her sleep and when she awoke she tried to stand and fell. I call 911 and while I waited for them she said the last words she ever spoke on this earth, she said Terry I love you,I love you so much then she went unconscious. She passed 3 day later in ICU. We were made for each other and our break up was so unbelievably bittersweet cuz I wanted to be with her til death do us part and at the same time I just wanted her to disappear because I couldn't take the pain anymore!!! Unfortunately she just could not leave her past in the past and let herself be happy like everyone deserves to be and the worst part is that heroin was more important to her than me and our relationship!!! 😞 I will never, ever understand how someone can tell you that ur the love of their life and have never been treated so good and everything along those lines, but at the same time, they just can't stop all communication with all the assholes from the past that treated them like pure dog shit!!! One of the biggest things that made me love her soo much, waa that from the day we met, she always made me feel so comfortable with myself!! That was ori less to me and meant the world to me cuz every one of my exes had tore me down and drained me o every drop of self confidence I had in me, so for a total stranger to come into my life and make me feel good about myself so fast, was amazing and I never wanted to lose that and don't know if I will ever find it again...it seems like every song always seems perfect, but this song is 1000% perfect for how I feel!!! It's been 2.5 years since we broke up, but it still feels like yesterday, it still hurts so bad and I feel like most of me died... That's what hurts to most because he decided to make a decision about our future based off of what he was going through. Now he is in prison, my bonus daughters(his girls) are living with his mom, and I am being put as a foster of the girls in case something happens to her...Makes me so angry because he made a decision of what would be better for him when in the end I am still being pulled back in for my bonus girls when it shouldn't have ever gotten to this. Yeah he would be doing his time, and I would be raising kids while him mom was being a grandma but instead she is being a mom again and I am here preparing for the what ifs... When I finally saw him years later I realized I no longer loved the person in front of me. I was stuck in the past of the guy I loved back then. So very sorry for your loss. My wife has stage 4 cancer and this song crushes me every time I hear it. “Cant’ stop you from leaving” line just reminds me of the terrible reality of the situation. I wish you the best sir; condolences.

I got divorced 6 years ago and I’m still broken inside. I miss my son more than I can explain and as much as I hate how much my wife treated me I still love her to a certain degree and of course miss her. I keep thinking I will wake up one day and be ok but it’s a constant struggle. To whoever reads this and are married, make good choices and fight like hell for your family. Divorce is worse than death.

Just heard this song for the first time today and I have listened to it over and over again. I see the pain in his eyes more so than hers, but when I read up about their break up I consistently read she broke up with him, so makes sense. The hardest part to watch is at the very end when he stops singing at 3:38 to the end.

This is more than just a song, it's a conversation with each stating their emotional position. Justin pleads by repeating the chorus 3 times, the third time changing it by saying "Memorise all this hurt..." drawing attention to all of his being now in pain, not just his eyes. Colbie wants to move on which is obvious from a lyrical stand point. However, she only utters the 2nd chorus and only half of the 3rd, missing out the critical "hurt" that Justin feels, indicating the readiness to move on without him. "I'm never getting over you" is another way of saying the cliché, "I love you, but I'm not in love with you". This song is an interpretation of that and is emphasised when she omits the last 2 repetitions; not only is she ignoring his words, she's broken eye contact, physically there but emotionally gone.

Yes. I don't see her noticably affected at all. I can feel his pain just watching him. I'm right there with him. I keep reminding myself I need time to heal. The pain does not go away overnight. 😔💔💔
