My wife of over 36years passed away over 19 months ago. I thought the day she passed was the worst day of my life,I was so wrong the days, weeks, months got worse. Now after a year and a half I still find myself waiting for her to call or walk through the door. I see her beautiful face in my dreams and in pictures but around the 1 year mark I charged her phone to look at some more pictures and found videos and heard her voice for the first time in a long time and it broke me big time. She suffered a massive stroke in her sleep and when she awoke she tried to stand and fell. I call 911 and while I waited for them she said the last words she ever spoke on this earth, she said Terry I love you,I love you so much then she went unconscious. She passed 3 day later in ICU. I will never get over you my Debbie

This is the first time I’ve ever seen these artists. I was watching thinking wow they are really amazing and singing with feelings. We were made for each other and our break up was so unbelievably bittersweet cuz I wanted to be with her til death do us part and at the same time I just wanted her to disappear because I couldn't take the pain anymore!!! That's what hurts to most because he decided to make a decision about our future based off of what he was going through. Now he is in prison, my bonus daughters(his girls) are living with his mom, and I am being put as a foster of the girls in case something happens to her...Makes me so angry because he made a decision of what would be better for him when in the end I am still being pulled back in for my bonus girls when it shouldn't have ever gotten to this. It's true you never get over that one person you truly love. Even as many years have passed the pain is still there. You learn to live with. When I finally saw him years later I realized I no longer loved the person in front of me. I was stuck in the past of the guy I loved back then. All I remember from that time is the deep pain I suffered. He is no longer the guy I fell in love with. I understand why our break up had to be.

This is more than just a song, it's a conversation with each stating their emotional position. Justin pleads by repeating the chorus 3 times, the third time changing it by saying "Memorise all this hurt..." drawing attention to all of his being now in pain, not just his eyes. Colbie wants to move on which is obvious from a lyrical stand point. However, she only utters the 2nd chorus and only half of the 3rd, missing out the critical "hurt" that Justin feels, indicating the readiness to move on without him. "I'm never getting over you" is another way of saying the cliché, "I love you, but I'm not in love with you". This song is an interpretation of that and is emphasised when she omits the last 2 repetitions; not only is she ignoring his words, she's broken eye contact, physically there but emotionally gone.
