After all the time spent observing these Rhesus in the wild and chronicling their families and interactions doesn't this make you the leading expert on Resus macaque behavior in the wild? Well, mostly wild. I don't know how much the regular feeding changes their behavior. You have provided all of us with a very informative and pleasant resus experience. much appreciated.

They're HARDLY "wild macaques." Wild macaques do not wait around all day for humans to come to feed them! The monkeys he films probably couldn't forage to save their lives, literally! Regular feeding from humans is actually REALLY bad for the monkeys in SO many ways! It causes UNNECESSARY infighting, their reproduction rate Increases, not to mention that they get addicted to human food because it tastes better! They don't have to spend 90% of the day foraging, like wild macaques do, when people bring food right to them. This inactivity has ALSO caused a rise in overweight monkeys, with most of the higher ranked ones actually becoming OBESE!!! ALL of THAT comes from humans feeding them.

@@Gary-And-His-Demons Please name 10 Rhesus Monkeys on MonkeybHill that are obese. (Nulla, Invalid (Dane's troop), Car Park, Nora's troop, Lowena'a troop, Bossy's troop, or any Bachelor troop.) I have not seen any obese ones. You may be getting them.mixed up.with the LTM in Cambodia. Little Teeny had a belly for a while when the feeders made sure she was getting fed. I will admit the Rhesus on Monkey Hill weigh a little more than they did before the Pandemic struck but they were skinny then. The horrid, vile VO's in Cambodia overfeed some monkeys and starve others, aside from flat out murdering the monkeys by various devious cruel methods.The Cambodian monkeys do not forage much because they are descendents of pet monkeys that never foraged a day in their lives. Their foraging instinct is not very strong. Have you not seen the monkeys on Monkey Hill in Hong Kong forage while they wait for goodies? And they get their goodies and retreat back into the forest. And they come to get goodies when they semse a feeder or three are coming, they are not on the road all day long. The Rhesus have adopted AM as one of their own. Most of them are not afraid of him and some groom him. They ask him for help.and he gets off the road and goes into the forest to see what they need. Dorothy had Dorty's first baby and Dorty asked AM for help. He went to the situation but he could not help. He could not take a baby from Dorothy, she would have torn his face off and shredded his hands and arms.That baby died because Dorty was not allowed to feed it. Teeny knows AM kept.her alive the first two years of her life. She's not s bit afraid of AM..She licks his camera lens and gets really close to him. The monkeys on Monkey Hill have not lost their instinct to forage. They were originally brought to Hong Kong to control tje vegetation on Golden Hill Road. Many of the plants are poisonous to them but they have learned to eat Kaolin to counteract the poisons. You will see the moms eating Kaolin and showing their babies where it's found and how to eat it. The Rhesus on Monkey Hill are wild animals. They will run out to thr feeders to get s goodie but they do not.expect food from everyone.

corn has pretty much no nutritional value. it has far less than bread. bread atleast is fattening. which is what the monkeys need to survive winter. corn on the cob is not fattening and it has basically no nutritional value. but it def would be a treat for them

Since the monkeys are eating them mostly raw they are keeping a lot of the nutrients corn contains.

Human beings did not evolve from monkeys. Mankind existed simultaneously with other primates is my belief. We were genetically engineered by aliens/gods as a slave race that had limited the full use of or brain. The human brain is capable of so much more if we only knew how to unlock it.

I have seen troops that start to get smaller and smaller, and have a rash of male births that survive over a few years as elders die off, eventually seem to get to that point where they realize if they start kicking males out too they will reduce numbers to the point where there is no troop even if the females left can protect the small ones. In these cases we have actually seen a troop decide to allow males to stay even very low ranked males at least until they numbers increase again, and more females are born and reach a breeding age. Of time with breeding males still in the troop it will tend to attract lone females who start to hang out and if they have babies, especially females and the troop assumes its babies of one or the other hanger on males, they get accepted into the troop. If they then get a few good years of birth from fertile females and have female offspring then you may see them go back to sending off males when they hit that 4-6 age mark and are lower ranked. If the troops gets back to a size where they are in good competition with other troops around thy well may then return to the point of sending bachelors off in a regular manner. We know that it is the male that determines the gender of the offspring and we think that by keeping males around the idea maybe that females may mate with male sand see who is more likely to produce females. Of course for every sperm produced with a y chromosome, there is a x produced too but we have seen over year that some produce sperm that are stronger swimmer, more normally shaped for their job and healthier if x or stronger in the same ways if y meaning that its not actually a 50/50 change of getting females and males as the stronger swimming sperm gets their first, the right shape is needed to penetrate and fertilize the egg and the sperm needs to be healthy to do what it needs to do. And primate females are not stupid, if females are mating with a male and get girls more often then not they to may want that partner, at least for a mating chance for a girl too.

But it is a beautiful ace nonetheless, and I am smitten with the bright eyes and tiny fingers of the newborn, and I love to see them do that little "pop", that they do! And the protesting chatter and woo- ing of a weaning in progress, just makes me laugh! They can really work their mums! It's so wonderful to be a part of grooming sessions in the sunshine, and their excited hoots and calls as the feeders approach is a joy to listen too. My first thought was it is one more thing to disrupt the monkeys world and peaceful environment. I'm very curious to learn more and I appreciate the quality of these videos and your knowledge. I'm curious to know what is presumed to be happening to these gorgeous creatures when they "disappear"? Are their natural predators in the area that are killing them? Are they dying from disease or being struck by a car? It just seems like there's plenty of food & the members of a troop look after each other, so for a young monkey to be dead in the first or 2nd year of life is hard to understand.

@@kkossor3046 oh thank you for replying to me..i wouldn't have seen that as I admit I chickened out of the investigation video..i saw the headline and the first few minutes and knew if I watched it i would be in tears and not able to get it out of my mind for a long time..i saw these godawful Cambodian videographers yrs ago before I found Arroz and JW so i know what they're capable of doing..poor swear Pea who they fed and fed to make him obese..fed him before the alphas so they'd beat him up..poor lola and Janet..then i couldn't watch..i had seen Arroz's 3 previous investigations though.. i have constantly written on these sites telling those stupid viewers believing their lies and just got foul abuse back..i completely understand why he has had to have a break..i knew he was in bits with the video about Daria too.. we all know how much Arroz loves these monkeys and it must break his heart not being able to stop it but he has done so much to try and highlight it to the government there.. but i really appreciate your reply as I was so worried about him.. see you on 24th..i have withdrawal symptoms already!! . I stopped watching in 2017 before it got to this level but I’ve been sent a link or two. I agree that it’s too hard to watch. I ask KZbin to not send those channels when I see them in my recommendations. They ask WHY And I click on I Don’t Like This Video. If they get enough, maybe they’ll d/c those channels. Arroz, JW and Kiyo are plentiful enough. And they go focus on the happy.
