I have been an ISO auditor for over 2.5 decades now, and I have observed both the decline and inherent failure of ISO Management systems over that period of time, as well the degradation of the accreditation and certification bodies. I would never advise any organization to seek any ISO registration, it would result in a vast waste of their resources. ----- Why would I say such a thing? Its very simple to ascertain if you live with these management systems for any length of time. TC176 based Its quality management system upon what they call Deming's PDCA. However Deming never espoused a systematic approach known as PDCA, Deming's systematic approach, which he taught the Japanese, was PDSA not PDCA. It was Toyota who changed the system to PDCA. It seems subtle the two words Study and Check, but they are vastly different in action. ----- 1- Study = is the acquisition of knowledge through observation, examination, or analysis, its intent is discovery (usually of variation) 2- Check = is the verification of what has already been determined as acceptable variation. Basically, a target which has been either achieved or missed. _____ In an effort to make their system of management more acceptable, ISO added what they term "Risk Based Thinking", without understanding that the definition of risk is nothing more than determining variation and it severity. ----- Lastly, ISO interjected dialectic based ideology into its 2015 management system standard, placing regulatory bodies and radical subversives on equal standing with customers, bunching them together as a single group of "Interested Parties" ----
