Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture. With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

I have to add to your comment I grew up farming with my grandpa just south of parkers prairie a bit I wish he was sitting next to me as well but he'd rather be watching his soap opera than playing with the darn phone but if it wasn't for him me and my brother wouldn't be trying to farm and teach the next generation the lessons we learned...

Oooohh, that feeling. WHAT was that noise?? Did I actually hear it?? Did I imagine it?? Is it nothing?? Is the combine about to blow up or catch fire?? Do I keep going or should I have stopped an hour ago?? THAT causes tension inside. And that weather pattern there! That was wild! The edge of that cloud was right there. Great video Zack. I always enjoy coming along with you guys and seeing the inner workings of your place. And Becky ALWAYS makes it a coherent and wonderful presentation. THANK YOU Becky!! I do get a lot of joy here. I think we all need to sit back and appreciate the amount of effort that goes in to making these videos, both from Zach and from Becky. Farming itself is hard enough, but taking your time to film all these dmall clips and then editing them together in this short amount of time while doing your main job asw is just phenomenal. Keep up the great work!

I had to smile with you and your dad listening to the combine, "hear that rattle?". Reminded me of conversations in C-17 aircraft. The pilot would say, "what's that noise?" All I could hear was the sound of 4 jets and an APU running. How in the world could you hear a noise over that racket. But over time sure enough you could hear things that didn't sound right. If you hear it, check it just like you said. Good memories. God bless.

We bought a new C12F last year and heard a plastic-y "grinding" noise. We noticed that right side PTO shield rattling as well and it would slowly turn while the head was running. Eventually that plastic tube shield broke in 2 places and then the 3 pieces would grind together. They checked the shaft to see if it was bent slightly but said no. They ended up warrantying the right side shaft and shield. I still noticed the shield rotating some this year, but it never broke. I did notice corn shucks getting wedged between the tube shield and back of head a couple times and dug them out to keep them from pushing on the shield. The noise last year was definitely unsettling at first but was a relief to find it was just the shield rubbing

Hey Zach, we have a new corn head too, a 2022 C8R. It was noisy on the drive end like yours. Turned out that the collar that held the sprocket in place that drives the auger was omitted from the factory, that caused the chain to rub the framework making a racket. After they replaced the collar, sprockets, and chain it was still noisier than it should have been so they replaced the chain on the end that runs in oil. Now it sounds good. Might look into that

I am one of the people who designed new medals for the sub sea oil hangers that we had extreme pressure. I work for Cameron iron work in Houston Texas while there I did some time in the Forge shop we used the metal called 525 die Steel there are welding rods with this dye Steel that you can buy this is the same material I used to use and resurface on the Digger points for backhoes and track hose in the mining industry I would use the 525 die Steel to run on the surface of mild Steel these are almost totally impervious to wear you can buy the 1/8 rods I think from Lincoln welding company this is where we got them from spending a little time with the welder and probably won't have to replace these but every two to three years maybe even longer you're not going through Rock this is what I was doing for people who were digging mining Rock. I hope you get this message I do enjoy your show I am a Chinook Blackfoot from The Boundary Waters I live most of my young life in the lakes of The Boundary Waters canoe area I was a guide up there for a great part of my life had to go to Texas cuz it's too damn cold up there.
