My favorite kind of Dave video…small scale, hands-on instructional, and just plain fun. Thanks, Dave!

Finally a mention on the rack build. I would also mention that the stick method is not something you want to use on a shell that seats. It the shell can freely seat, let it freely seat. These smaller shells almost always don’t seat. However 3’s and up usually seat pretty easily. And only as a last resort that stick should be used. Added friction is caused by the stick and there is no point in adding a safety hazard when one doesn’t need to be added. In this videos case clearly it needed to be added. As for that perch match crap that’s been like that for about three years now. Try doing a handfire with that shit. Sucks. Doesn’t want to catch even with a road flare jabbed into it. I primed a handful of shells with the stuff for pgi this year. Every single time fuse failed that had it. And in whistle spollettes. Something that should freely burn. But nope. I was the talk of the b and ground salute line with shells coming back down left and right. Luckily I was able to look at them and just visco through the spollette and light them on the ground salute line. Stuff is garbage for anything but handfire where you are trying to protect your fuse from sparks falling causing premature ignition. I’m more annoyed with the Chinese for causing this issue than most. Years ago it used to be good. Now it’s garbage. Five strand flails when it burns. So when it’s acting like a whip it never even touches the wide 1 strand. And since the wide 1 strand needs constant contact it won’t light. A simple fix is to either tape the bucket tight or tie a string around the middle of the bucket so that the five strand is forced to stick to the 1 wide strand. Although many books talk about the added string method being used for a .02 second delay. And there is a ton of truth to that. More so with this 1 wide strand as it doesn’t like to catch to begin with. Thank you Dave for mentioning the spacer thing. We appreciate that.

The plastic should be removed but most people don't. Plastic heated up during the lift ignition fuses to the wall of the gun in beads. The only plastic that wont is SARAN WRAP, it's cellulose.

If you apply 12 que, can prevent this happened.

Hey Dave, nice to see you. Looks like a manufacturing defect, as you say the ends weren't touching. They should be overlapping the match to insure good ignition. Nice salutes though!!
