Good food and bad food in Spain

During our 3 month long trip we have to eat. We have no room to carry our own food so we have to eat local things. Sometimes we cook, sometimes we just go to a restaurant, but we explore a lot.
The best food so far was in France. Even canned food was outstanding and there was quite a lot to chose from.
Spain is more tricky. If you don't like pig meat or seafood you might end up with very little choice.

What about paella? And perfectly made tomato sauce with spagetty! You can add sometimes tuna to this sauce :)

We really like paella, we ate it quite often when we lived in Andalucia. But as travelers just passing by it is not that easy. paella is terribly expensive. It has to be as it is not meant to be eaten by one or two persons. It's something you cook for you family, your extended family, all your neighbors and their families. It tastes awesome, beacuse it is cooked for people you like, not just because you get payed. It is not only a dish, it is an event. I am not sure you can get the same thing as a tourist. Perhaps. But it is expensive. And we are poor. :-P

@@krystynakilde3108 I had the pleasure to eat as much paella as I wanted when I worked in a restaurant in Spain. They sometimes had it in the menu del dia. Lucky me! :D

@@dominikalechowicz2635 Oh yes, lucky you! I was once with my husband in Barcelona and we ordered paella in a street restaurant; waiting incredibly long, waiter was somehow stressed. Obviously it was not the atmosphere for paella you described earlier. Anyway, I was fascinated of enormous quatity and variety of tapas in many bars around. Dominiko, it's always fine and safe to talk about food , isn't it? 😉😀

If you're still in Spain you can try Queso Manchego - it's not goat but sheep - so doesn't have that specific "goaty" smell and taste. Doesn't stink (too much) and is my favorite spanish cheese for sure. Also what you didn't mention, but show later, is what is the best spanish culinary invention: tomate frito. That's not a dish, of course, but I cannot imagine using a regular tomato sauce in the kitchen after trying (good) tomate frito. Of course best if made with olive oil 😜 Now, let me run to the store to buy that spaghetti 🙃 Cheers!

Spain food is one of the worst food I ever tasted. Greek and Turkish and Lebanese food are the best.
