The entertainment value alone is well worth whatever it costs to feed them, and then you get so used to having them around that you don't want to stop. I have Grackles instead of magpies, but other than that, it's just about the same at my house. They have reduced my stress levels to near zero by just being around.

I think that's the point, we can forget all problems for a while when we watch birds. I am happy each time when I see birds.

@@kestrelsandcrows6871 the only way anybody could ever get me to stop would be to forcibly put me in a place where there are no birds.
