You weren't able to switch to E-Mode, because your range was 0. 0 is still enough for hybrid, a little is always left and the engine would turn on itself when it's too low to drive. E-mode is different. It only uses the electric engine and it won't turn on the V8 even when you floor it. That means there must be enough batterie power. You can choose E-Charge for awhile, maybe on the freeway and in the city you'll have a full batterie to drive E-mode only. That could be necessary in some cities in the future.

I think it defaults to electric motor when you're in the city (based on GPS) and it defaults to petrol engine on the highway when you're in hybrid mode.. They dont allow you to switch to E mode when the e-range is low because they want to keep the ability to switch from E-Petrol-E automatically in Hybrid mode only.. maybe to make sure the user will know what will happen?

Hi! Maybe a cayenne hybrid owner in future..a couple of question for you if you want... Do you see a battery degrade in a year or so? Like the range of the first day of collecting and after a year or 30k km is the same? Is possible driving efficiently without charging it ? And last...haw much time takes to charge the battery with the engine? Thank you!
