RIP Mgr Mark Langham (28.11.1960 - 15.01.2021). Fr Mark's beautiful voice inspired much joy and prayerfulness, and thanks to this video will hopefully continue to do so.

The Liturgy at Westminster Cathedral was always of very high standart. A model for all Roman Catholic Cathedrals around the world.

I love Westminster Cathedral and it's choir. I never fail to attend mass and/or at least the Divine Office everytime I'm in London. Mgr Mark Langham is now the chaplain at Fisher house here in Cambridge, although I didn't know him in 1993 when this was filmed (I wasn't even born until October 1993), he certainly looks different now. Still a lovely and wonderful priest all the same. :)

This is the type of Liturgy the council father wanted. In the Vernacular with a bit of Latin, proper vestments and chant. Absolutely beautiful. What a shame that such liturgies are the exception and not the norm.

The choirs been cut significantly recently. As for priests we do need them desperately but a role at Westminster is a mark of an entire career in catholic ministry well spent. An end of career reward for English priests if you like. Best thing to do is seek ordination in your own country and then try and get a transfer to England and Wales, work really really hard in a parish somewhere, and hope for a placement to Westminster before retirement. Ealing Abbey or the Oratory would be easier to get into but still pretty hard to access
