The courses they play are very hard. A scratch handicapper is expected to shoot par on a course with a 113 slope. These courses are all 130-150 and rated as high as 75 or even more sometimes. Put them all on a course with a 113 rating and see how low they go.

Someone raised a good point, they play OB as lateral hazard, they play preferred lies, they take gimmes and play short par 4s from driveable distance. Add those extra 5-6 shots on per round from those and you end up with more accurate handicaps. I think all these guys are single digits 100% but not that low. Except maybe brad

Regarding handicaps, keep in mind that you guys play a lot of preferred lies, conceded putts, and technically illegal drops for unmarked hazards or OB. If you feel like your numbers are lower than expected - this is probably part of the reason. Not a complaint, just an observation about why the numbers surprise you. That stuff can easily add up to 3-5 shots.

If every single of them play the same way it really has no factor playing against each other, it only matters playing against other players that do. I have never seen anybody retee on a lost ball outside of a real tournament, pace of play is already slow enough.

My son and I played Top of the Rock and it ate us up too. That’s a tough course. Great video guys. Congrats Steve on a great round.
