@adesege10252 ай бұрын
@@muritalaakande69 You be Mumu to say Buhari remove subsidy. Buhari only make budget for subsidy in first 6 months of 2023, knowing fully well he will leave the power by May ending. Instead of Tinubu to allow subsidy in June, look at the situation to know if he will make appropriate budget for it or not for July to December, he remove the subsidy insensitively on the ground of inauguration even before assuming the office. That is a sign of a bad leader. Telling me now that Buhari remove subsidy is absurd as if Tinubu does not have power to make appropriation budget to extend subsidy beyond June 2023. Tinubu even shortchanged the masses because subsidy was budgeted for June 2023 yet he removed subsidy on May 29 instead of June 30. That is a wicked leader.

@12:01 I believe Garba was on track. Bringing back fuel subsidies is unproductive and will continue to fund a consumption culture. Pre-IBB SAP policy, Nigeria had textile, agriculture and automobile manufacturing industries that created jobs and reduced imports. Garba is also correct that Northern Nigeria must deal with its uncontrolled population. Deji is all about emotion, and he offers no tangible solution beyond the return of fuel subsidy. Deji needs to focus on why fuel subsidies have been corrupt, the makeup of Tinubu's corrupt government, and the corruption in INEC and the judiciary. This is 2024, and no one is discussing the reform of INEC and the judiciary.

It is surprising that every time they ask the lawyers associated with the protest is they are part of the organizers they seem to be evasive in answering the question. Lawyer Adeyanju says the president's speech did not address the demands of the protesters but in that speech the president call for dialogue with the protesters, is the lawyer representing the protesters in the dialogue with the government? The protest has two more days as reflected in the schedule, therefore Nigerians will start to be impatient with the protesters if there in no evidence that the organizers of the protest have not began the dialogue with the government. Government is not going to embark on this dialogue in the social media and any further protest beyond the 10 days may inconvenient the citizens and unsafe as the president can then step in to call of the protest. The ball is on the organizers court now to show up before the world to establish their willingness to dialogue with the government. Lawyers representing the protesters should know that nothing gets done without dialogue and negotiation. It is insubordination and unpatriotic not to honor request for dialogue by the government.
