I understand amnesia is very cliche and a plot device, but I'm actually glad this happened. Big Mom got fucked over by life, being abandoned by her parents and being manipulated by Carmel and Stusen. She probably could've been a great person if she wasn't drawn such an unlucky hand in life, this is her second chance at that life. Instead of being around shitty people, she's going to be around the strawhats, who are the best of the best. Plus imagine the hilarious reactions of everyone (especially Sanji) and how funny trying to hide Big Mom in Wano will be.

Don't doubt Oda. I don't think this is going to be a big mom character arc, it's going to be a chopper character arc. Chopper is a doctor, it is his job to help people in a situation like this. This could be very similar to Sanji vs Kahlifa, where chopper has conflict with his own morals on weather he helps big mom, or leaves her be. Now, what chopper would choose, I honestly don't know. But I don't think that this is something Oda will focus on it in the standard amnesia way and have it focus more on others.

I really love how Sanji fits perfectly into the Sentai mysterious, lone-wolf, anti-hero member of the group who's normally introduced as a villain who initially goes against the main group of heroes but later on the story becomes their ally and, some times, even part of the group itself. The cool and interesting thing here is that, in this case, it's all backwards: the Germa 66 are known to be an Evil Army and not a heroic one, and 'Stealth Black' or 'Soba Mask' has been introduced as someone who wants to protect/save people -- a hero, therefore going against the ideology of the 'main group', just as the cliche Sentai character mentioned before. I loved and watched a lot of Power Rangers, Beetleborgs and Ultraman as a kid and I just couldn't not notice. Oda is a genius :)

I disagree about Big Mom not getting hyped. As a Matter of fact it seems the opposite: -She needs to be nerfed at Whole Cake Island -Kaido freaks out about her appearing -Big Mom seemingly being nerfed now, possibly to protect Kaido Nd the Beast Pirates. By portrayal recently, a good argument could be made about her being shown to be stronger thsn Kaido based upon her needing nerfs and how shook Kaido looked. Heck, we even know Roger seemingly didn't defeat her in a fight but rather stealthily swiped her poneglyph.

Remember that after he clapped Luffy he made it clear he didn't want the residents of Wano to know that Luffy was a pirate outsider. This was easy enough given that Luffy was already wearing local attire and had a local hairstyle in order to blend in. Big Mom's crew isn't going there to blend in. It'll be obvious to everyone that Wano is getting invaded by outsiders and moreover that even Kaido himself (who is basically the God of Wano) is having trouble dealing with them. So for him it's an image problem.

O-Soba Stealth Black is awesome. It perfectly complements Sanji's style of quickness. He can easily outpace most foes without their notice but now the added invisibility will make him much harder to handle. Big Mom's affliction can honestly go different ways. We have to make sure what kind of amnesia she has. Is just plain amnesia to where she firgot everything or has she actually regressed to her childish form? Either way she's in no condition to fight Kaido but she can be manipulated to help them out. Plus, her crew are around somewhere. Last, O-Robi is in deep trouble. Robin's main forte is assasination and surprise attacks both she can't really pull off with all the ninjas watching her. I wonder how she'll take this? Otherwise we'll get that Robin fight people want.

I'd just like to add that Big Mom losing her memory isn't even out of character for her as she often enters fugue states where she doesn't have a lot of control over herself. She did this when she ate Mother Caramel and her orphan friends but then woke up with no memory of it. Also when she goes berserk after the shattering of Mother Caramel's photo and cake smashing. It's just so smart of Oda to make this a genuine weakness of hers makes it less ass pull-y he's been setting up her weak mental constitution for a while now.

At this point I'm convinced that Big Mom will ultimately be an ally. With both Pudding and Katakuri starting to like the Straw hats, and now with Big Mom's amnesia, I think it's setting the stage for them to ally with the Straw Hats. I've been on board from the beginning with your theory that Chopper will "cure" Big Mom and the similarities to the children of Punk Hazard are too much to be a coincidence. I can feel Oda's genius oozing through the arcs as he's setting the seeds for Big Mom's overall story arc. My next prediction for Big Mom involves Pudding using her memory powers to attempt to bring back Big Mom's memories which will somehow cause Big Mom to "remember" her 6th birthday party. There's still so much of her story though, with her connections to Kaido and the Rox pirates and Elbaf, I'm excited to see where Oda takes us. I believe in the greatness of Goda

I personally think why Oda put Bigmom in amnesia situation because he want the Strawhat to lead the chaos against Kaido and the Shogun. I think Bigmom role here is just support for the strawhat... What if Bigmom is not in amnesia mode? What do you think happen? I feel what people are mostly complaining about when it comes to BM is that dispite her portrayl and title she feels almost too...mortal compared to other Yonko. Yonko in themselves are dipocted as pretty much the epitome of individual power and pull in One piece and while BM has shown great feats she hasn’t made much of a significant impact on the story or primarily the SH crew. I’d like to believe that when a yonko enters the current story, everything changes, chaos ensues and there is real fear for our protagonists as seen when Kaido completely destroys surrounding areas killing people and changing the plot itself all in a single breath of fire. With BM presence it feels as tho it’s less impactful. She feels to...normal.

Also,the stealth thing suits him because he’s always been kinda the stealth guy. In alabasta no one knew his face,on the sea train he was sneaking up the cars and even severed a couple with usopp and Frankys help,in enies lobby he disappeared without anyone noticing to go close the gates of justice. He’s a powerhouse,but he’s surprisingly stealthy. And this also just showed off how durable this thing makes him. And I really REALLY hope that was a concasse he was about to drop on page 1. It super looked like it and that’s one of my favorite moves he’s used. Also super excited as to how Franky and Usopps redesign for the raid suit is gonna look. On the subject of Big Mom I laughed to myself when I saw she had amnesia cause it seems like the perfect way for her to remember EVERYTHING from her past. I also look forward to a possible confrontation with streuson and her asking something like”did you know about this?” Could be an interesting thing. And robin needs to snap some necks. Maybe they’ll see her power and teach her new things for assassinations? Doubtful,but possible

This hurts big mom's threat MASSIVELY. this has nothing to do with possibilities or plot. since big mom's introduction she hasn't done a single thing to damage the straw hats, NOTHING. pedro death? that was Prospero, luffy near death? katakuri. Arrives ON SUNNY vs 3 weakest trio and jimbe? gets blown away. Jimbe capture? fleet surrounded him. Pulls up on wano? knocked out by king. arrives on beach? loses memory. Like come on this character is supposed to be a yonko, at this point she's as threatening as Moria or smoker if not even less threatening.. yes she's powerful but she has not done ANYTHING with it. shes getting stepped over by so many characters. this is just how I feel but urgh this is annoying >.>

Wtf, Big Mom has been Godlike, literally everyone just runs from her, unable to stop her, fearing her and luckily she has a memory loss so she doesn't end this Arc so quickly! Pedro killed himself because big mom was approaching Jinbe uses his strongest technique to push Big Mom away and brook blitzed her homie after asking to see her panties. Again the only thing to do against Big Mom is running away because no one wants to fight her, not Kaido, not even Roger. Luffy choose to fight Kaido B4 Big Mom, literally compare there fights, Luffy unloads on Kaido, he sobers up then hits Luffy in the head. Versus Luffy attacks Big Mom while she just blocks it and laughs then Luffy's finished being carried away by Sanji's.

She was never supposed to be a powerful fighter. Or a 'threat' at all. She's a villain for sure, but that doesn't mean she has to personally be a serious challenge even if she is strong enough. If you don't get why her losing her memory like this is a good thing then you don't get what the character's about. It's absolutely plot stuff.
