This scratches such a specific part of my brain that I don’t even know what to call this genre of music. It’s just so perfect, I love it ❤

I think you are referring to melody called “Maqam Hijaz” or “Hicaz” you can put remix, instrumental, remake, beats words in addition to explore more styles in this melody.

Hey Daniel! Good morning! Do you dream music? I can see that you are completely immersed! Your creativity and sense of play, especially bringing the vocab of international music into yours is bringing a complexity to your interpretations. Clearly, you've studied a lot to add such an authentic background (to my non-Asian ears) to what seems a very simple starting place. Sooooo cool! I look forward to every post. Thank you!!

Thanks Aviva 😊 I have dreamt music before but it's rare, I hear a lot of music in my head all the time though :) It's great to hear you feel a sense of authenticity in the Asian musicality, I was aiming for a blend of that feel with my own natural style :) Thanks so much for all the kind words and support, I really appreciate you being here! 💙💙

I use this for freestyle flow excersize damn near 5x a week. So far I can spit coherent lyrics for around 24 minutes, but give me a few months and I might drop a whole hour of "Good Morning, Pineapple" freestyle.

I'm very curious what genres you specifically studied or researched to make this mashup. It's phenomenal. I don't have a musical student's education on music, but I'm an obsessive audiophile nerd when it comes to sound design. This is such a unique blend of things that I know I've heard before, but never knew could be put together. The closest thing I can think of is Bhangra, but that's an entirely different cadence and energy. Four things stick out to me specifically: 1) is your use of breaths at the end of the 3rd bar which sets a very tribal tone. 2) Your use of clacking/scatting at the drop. 3) Your whistle shortly following the clacking, and lastly... 4) the DEEP chanting you're using. The chanting is the most unique to me because it's not a style of chanting I associate with the perceived locale this mashup is kind of emulating. I usually associate that kind of deep chanting with Samoan cultures.
