The little brother is worth the price of admission but, as in any Ozu film, there is so much more.

The boys have about the same years of birth as Flipper brothers, Luke Halpin and Tommy Norden.

My friend, I am a huge Ozu fan. This is the funniest subtitled movie I've ever watched. Don't let anyone tell you different. I love it. "fussing about a small thing like a woman!"

ive watched this on this on DVD. its a "modern translation" a more acurate translation would be forget it or its nothing, NOT (scew that) ive seen a K-Drama once where they Used the F word in alot of sentences & it didnt make any sense & was funny at the same time.

The way Isamu waves his little arms angerly. The only thing I don’t like that much is the father’s acting. Seems robotic, lacks emotion. Other than that, amazing film! I would re watch it over and over!

Japanese fathers, especially for that period were robotic and lacked emotion.

Ryu is acting drunk here - and doing it very well - but you would beed to ko how Japanese men act angie when drunk, disciplining their children, to see how effective this acne is ... I mean, this scne.
