Micho Russell had a great traditional tune he learned from his ma, Annie Maloney, called Christmas Day in the Morning. I play it on the tin whistle and octave mandolin. A sweet little jig.

Thank you for the music (and "walking on air" yesterday - from the animation that is a must also here in Norway). As an atheist (but also for people better than me) - the album to own and pop off when you want to stay on topic but need a break from jolly songs on radio/shopping mall rotation is Bugge Wessetoft's "It's Snowing on my Piano". No singing, just Bugge meditating on the traditional Christmas songs from a modern jazz perspective combined with Scani-Noir melancholy without ever feeling depressive. I need Jussi Bjørling's "O holy night" since even Pavarotti would agree. "Silent Night" by Mahalia Jackson must be played (jeez). The film music for "The Pinchcliffe Grand Prix" must be heard (and the movie must be rewatched), and nothing is right before the soundtrack of the Disney Christmas Cavalcade is playing on the TV while final chores and preparations are done. Aurora's "Concert from Nidarosdomen" has become a national and personal treasure, her version of "Walking on Air" included (and can be found in its entirety on YT since Aurora and NRK (like BBC) can sometimes be pretty casual about copyright when citizens are in unison saying "this is an excellent use of my taxes". That is all I can think of right now since I am still actively suppressing Christmas to prevent the annual burnout from occurring before what you call Boxing Day. 🤪
