10:50 just wanna mention here, in India almost all wildlife populations have seen growth, since the last time when wildlife population came to almost a brink during the colonial era, this includes big species such as Rhinos, elephants, Bisons(Gaur),Tigers, Lions, Leopards, snow leopards, clouded leopards and every single wildlife there is. The only failure points were decline in Vulture population since late 90s and also few other bird species such as Himalayan owls, great Indian bastards etc, but recently they too seem to have reached a stable point(not declining anymore), and the other one is Asiatic Cheetahs that went completely extinct during the colonial era, but over the last few years, different sub breeds of African Cheetahs are brought here under a special program to make them breed with each other and give rise to a indigenous breed again, so far, the results are mixed, but on the positive side, may be within next 2 decades, we will see the Cheetahs roaming in Indian forests again.

Thanks for the good news :D. I’m participating in helping the climate by bringing a wetlands near me back to life. There’s lots of invasive species around and recent construction has driven some species out, as well as Ash borers have killed all the ash trees around, which were important in these woods. But I’ve been gathering some native plant seeds and have been growing trees to plant, as well as trying to prevent some four wheelers from destroying it. (It’s technically protected wetlands, but the town doesn’t care that ATV’s have been ripping up the trails and chasing animals away, so I’ve taken matters into my own hands.) Anyways, I’m excited for the spring, because then I’ll be able to continue saving the wetlands.

So much good news! While Australians seem to have dominated the round up this month, i wanted to mention a building material company id not known existed, who take straw and turn it into alternate plaster board or ceiling material. Its fire proof, has thermal properties and dampens sound. Not water proof though so requires good weather proofing. Theyve been around since the 70's and are called Durra Panel. Then other companies in the world are making concrete alternatives, rammed earth and straw bale constructed buildings, let alone myco bricks, coffee grounds, old clothes that cant be recycled. There are lots of fabulous news in the building sector that can help address a major cause of housing affordability, namely cost and access to construction materials. Yeah to all the out of the box thinkers in the world 🥳

We have an amazing bin collection here in S.A. 3 bins per household, all green but with different colored lids. Green lid for green waste, such as food scraps, pruning scraps etc., which gets composted by our council. We have yellow lid for recyclables, which is taken to a recyclables plant (building), to be sorted out, and the blue lid bin is for normal garbage, this one is much smaller, to encourage us to use the other two bins appropriately. I love A.U. 😊

Really appreciate this kind of news! My mental health has gotten worse lately from falling down rabbit holes about atrocities happening in the world.. I've had to stop and actively make sure I'm balancing it out and watching what's also good in the world, it helps me still have hope for humanity and the planet and still wanna be here

It's Good to know that, despite everything getting hotter and the weather getting so much more extreme than I could ever imagine. People still are trying to do what they can to make big changes To reduce the planet getting warmer, it makes me Believe That there is a future for my younger siblings...
