I like this, especially, bc I think Anathema is underappreciated. She is such a brilliantly portrayed character, strong, intelligent, independent. And now its just always "anathema and newt" if they are mentioned at all. always just the both of them together. But Anathema wouldn't need a man to be amazing. (of course its nice for her to have one, but she wouldn't /need/ him, if you know what I am trying to say) And I think thats a shame. I am a huge fan of hers.

In my opinion she surelly had potential, but her character wasn't developed enough. You just don't get to know her as a person. And she didn't get any badass scenes or interesting dialogue. And all the sudden "connection" with Newt seemed totally out of the blue and out of character. In the series she was... like a walking addition to the book, nothing more. Which is a pity. Also, while she met with C & A, their interaction wasn't interesting or memorable at all.

@@lisamikky1696 while this is certainly true, I still think Adria Arjona did an amazing job portraying her as a living character as much as possible, even though she didn't have much to work with. Just look at every little head twist and cocked eyebrow. The expressions on her face are giving the character so much depth, it's actually incredible. Still, I agree, that she wasn't as developed as she would deserve to be. I would have loved to see much more of her. And the connection to newt kind of takes away her stand-alone worth. As if she can only exist with him and that makes me sad. She is such a strong character, with strong opinions and individual thoughts about the world, that it actually pains me to see her disregarded like that.

Agnes is one of my favorite characters in the book and series. I wish there was a way for her to return for season 3 (maybe a little time travel? flashback minisode?). Great to see a tribute to her. I also like Anathema but I don't think her acting is as strong as others in the show.
