I have the opposite problem lol, if a song is fingerpicked i usually just ignore that and use a pick. Hell its become such a problem ive learned stairway to heaven with just using a pick

You're ring finger is free so start moving that to the B string as the E chord is being finished. Then make sure you get a gap between your 1st and 2nd fingers (because they are gonna be one string apart) to quickly get them on to the G and E string.
