My dad has account in Canara Bank. Its the worst pathetic bank. Very bad services. They don't provide platform to get transactions older than 1 year. They take 50 Rs per page for getting statements offline. There is no option get it online. Also, there was a news that its employers are illegally taking money out of the customers accounts. Do not buy canara bank shares.

I think you have not analyzed Canara Bank well. I have been holding this stock since last 8 to 10 years, when it was trading as syndicate Bank. It recently started giving yearly dividends only in last 3 years. YOY dividend keeps increasing from 6.5 to 12 to 16 rupees. Just for the sake of dividends, this stock is good to hold. Long term target (by 2030), will be 250 rupees, with dividend amount increasing to up to 10 rupees. This stock is held in Rakesh Junjunwala portfolio. Just because of my strategy to not invest too much in one stock in order to reduce risks, am holding only 1000 shares as of now (after split). Having said that this stock is great for trading, probably can buy 500 stocks and sell it within a month for a 10% profit, earning 5000 rupees for monthly pocket money expenses.
