Spent much of late morning and all afternoon with Goodwill2ndin.
After a while an alarm for a structure box was transmitted.
Good turn out for that time of the day on a Friday.

I started out as a Junior FF at 14 in the township next to me, but when i turned 16 i transfered to the city as a junior till im 18. I live on the other side of PA around Pittsburgh. At my old CO i had a blue, but now i have a orange. Stay safe Frank and 52!

What was explained to me during evoc is that Fire and police Do Not need to stop, never even said anything about slowing down.... all they say is ambulances must stop at stop signs and red lights at all times. And plus that intersection is so minor theyre is almost noone ever there and when they come out of station they can see no ones coming. Just a friendly fyi

According to the response, both Engines 52-1 and 52-2 were First and Second Due respectively, with Engine 52-2 being First Due out of Station 52.

Question is there any reason most fire trucks just use red lights? Most of the fire trucks in my county use red/blue lights the lightbar is red/blue and the rest of the lights on them are just red.

Sure there is. Light output,positioning and coloring is regulated by municipalities,townships,counties and or states.

They conduct studies with the color spectrum. And,crashes involving units responding. Some colors are bland during bright daylight. Some are brilliant. Depending on your departments roadways, some hilly and flat leveled surfaces ,specific brands and models out weigh the standard. Like on my fMartinjr channel, The Red Train's warnings,I did! We have a decent amount of hills in our first due and immediate mutual aid first due.

I'm not driving.I'm guessing none of the rigs stopped because there was no need to stop.All of the different drivers of different apparatus did the same thing,so it's more than obvious why.It's an open intersection,not a congested multi-lane highway with a stop sign.I can see and understand that,and I'm not from there,even if I were and driving a rig to this call,I would've gone through it too.

+fmartinjr Goreville Illinois (my town) trucks are yellow we have a engine and a tanker and then we have a white brush truck and two rescue units ones a I think 1980 box ambulance and its white with a green strip exactly the same as these trucks in the video and ones one we just got a few months ago it was red but we painted it yellow to match the trucks and we have a 99 crown Vic the FFs use if the trucks go out before they get to the station. I've got a few videos of them on my page if you'd like to see them.

Public saftey always comes first, I have never seen any emergency respounce not slow down at the very least at any intersection where there is a Light or a STOP sign. The two rigs leaving the station I can understand, they are wright on top of the intersection, my concern is the other two rigs that did'nt even slwo at all, you never know whats going to happen at an intersection and State Law says you must slow down and public saftey comes first.

Every emergency vehicle must slow down or come to a complete stop and then proceed when it is safe to do so. No emergency driver has the right to blow stop signs or stop lights. Google it!

If you look closely there is a man flagging the intersection and stopping traffic so they can go through the stop sign. He is probably fire-police or a volunteer. Had he not been there I’m sure they would have stopped
