There has long been a bit of an unconfirmed urban legend that a young Jack Nicholson was one of the crew members "inside" the crab monster moving it around. The timing is about right (he worked for Corman as a crew member for short while before he got his first acting gig with him the following year). No clue how legitimate it is, but I've seen reputable sources both claim and dismiss it.

This was the first monster movie I ever watched and it started my love of them. I was 5 in 1965 and staying at my grandmothers house. She was switching channels (back when there were 4 to chose from) and tuned this on. When I saw the giant crab I asked her if I could watch it. She asked me if my parents allowed me to watch such movies and I remember lying and saying yes. I later felt catholic boy guilt about lying but loved the movie. Thanks for the fun review.

Thanks for doing a review of this film, Cecil. It is one of my favorite "guilty pleasure" films. It's rare to find a film that is both suspenseful and hilarious. I think Attack of The Crab Monsters would make for a great film to remake. The premise has some creepy elements, like is the island actually haunted by the previous scientists. The monsters are also intelligent, using both deceptions to target the humans and also causing the island to shrink. Don't get me wrong. It's a great film to poke fun at and I loved the commentary you did on the video. It's just got so much story potential too for a modern remake.

That Batman v Superman reference is completely earned and somehow fits nicely on a Corman film. hahahahaha "Martha, WHY DID YOU SAY THAT NAME?" and by the way, these Mutant Crabs are like talking big-eyed cheap looking Mirelurcks hahahahahaha, so now I can see that maybe some of the developers might be a fan of Corman films and giant creature films alike.
