Thank you Emma, coz through your story, God has answered many of my questions. Our lives are really in his hands. God’ delays are not denials, He just has a better way. Imagine, nasa States na kami ng Parents and Siblings ko years ago, inuwi lang kami ni Papa so I had to spend many years in the Philippines. Now mukhang lumuwag na ang daan ko pabalik ng North America at marami ng hurdles and road blocks na nawala. I am now doing what needs to be done to get back there, God Willing. X. I am not into politics, but lately I had gotten to watch the vlogs of Pierre Polievre, who has said that, when he becomes Prime Minister, he will make a law where the hundreds of Doctors and Nurses, who are working as Taxi Drivers and Fast Food crews, will be allowed to take exams to qualify them to use their degrees and previous work experience, to work as Doctors and Nurses in Canada. He was Specific about these professions. Siguro he could also have something similar for other Professions. God Bless You.

Easier said than done! 😂 This happened to me Im a Civil Engineer in Philippines and Canada these politicians doesn’t know what they’re talking about, I will try to share my experinece how I got my license as an Engineer in Canada, twenty years ago, APeGA required from me to pass both USA and Canadian board exams before I can qualify for licensure, and 4-5years of Engineering Intern. Before they can grant the full license and I can practice on my own. These politicians didn’t know that the Federal government had granted these individual Professional Associations to operate and do their own thing to professional applicants, meaning the licensure is run by separate private entities and not the government. This is by law and granted by Queens Bench if I can recall, I doubt these politicians can change it. 😂 Keep on dreaming politicans!

@user_ud... Let's cross our fingers .. My hubby and I are following Pierre Pol" he is our bet in the Next Election... I e-mailed him personally last year, airing out sentiment of so many hurdles coming to Canada as immigrant. Finding jobs which and where we are qualified based on prefession and experience. Isa yang hindi natin nagagamit ang ating Profession and experience once we got here.. Back to Zero tayo.. Nabuburo ang talento. I hope sa message ko na yon.. though I didn't get a response, was one of the wake-up calls from so many.. to change some Immigration policies and regulations.

Going back home sa pinas after bagging money from here sa Canada is never a fail. Even just to finish study dito sa Canada will be an asset pag uwi. And why do we dread being back home? So many bad things din dito sa Canada. Personally, after 2 years of being here, finishing my study and now working to I suppose maganda na na trabaho earning 4k a month bawas na ang tax, ang dami pa ring ika ggrateful sa Pinas. Dito sa Canada, we will never be one with everyone. Dayo tayo and will always will be. If mayaman lang ako sa Pinas, I will really go back home. Isa din ako sa hindi maintindihan ang mga taong nabalik sa Pinas or nag reretire sa pinas after sometime here. Pero truth be told, Canada lacks in many aspects din. Pinaka bawi nalang dito is ang malinis na hangin at simpler na byahe going around (will not be the case sa more snowy places). Affordability ng house, healthcare system, some aspects still out of reach same sa pinas. I'm 28 and I wanna give up this easily. I can still remember being home having a booming business and full time job I left making me earn 60k a month. Its more fun in the Philippines for real. Canada claims to be diverse yet there are microaggression going on. Internally biased pa rin most of the people here with their own race. Working with all white/canadian raised sa department namin, yes, may pinagdadaanan ako. Its not easy to penetrate a place where we are initially viewed outcast. I wanna go back home. Some moments its ok, some moments it just really sink into your bones na its not just money, not a dollar that can only make you happy.

Need muna ni DR X to study here in US take the board to become full pledge doctor here. I’m absolutely positive that everything will go on DR X way. Good luck and we welcome you both.🤗

This is a good vlog Emma and thank you to Dr. X for being generous in sharing their Canadian life story. My take on this is that every country has their good and bad points. Wherever you are in the world, there will always be challenges and stop-overs. All we can do is to remain focus, back up and LIVE LIFE again. These stop-overs shouldn't be the end all for our goals and dreams. I really hope that time will come that the Philippines will callback those who left, provide us the life we all deserve and that our government sees our potentials as its most valuable resource.

so sad that one of the reason that caused their pain was our own kababayan😢...but hope the experience will not affect their own good attitude towards fellow kababayan, marami pa rin naman mababait😊... i found so much lesson from their experiences, to highlight is being humble, the humility and recognizing in first world country no matter what your status, position, degree and intelligent level we are all the same❤....we are human❤ in terms of financial, it will depend talaga sa lifestyle nang isang tao, even we earn millions if waldas at maraming bisyo, wala din...mahirap kumita ng pera, madali lang magwaldas😀😅... being an int'l students in any country is not easy, maraming challenges, even nga yong may mga trabaho na, they face challenges, but stay focus and whatever we do, we do it with gladness Never give up the Dream we longed for, we already sacrifice for good , we already pass one step to our 🇨🇦 dream... Pinakamabisang panglaban, as a filipino we are religious people, our relationship to our God is the most important, never ever forgot to go to church and pray all the time❤ We have God that can turn water into wine💖 🇨🇦🇵🇭

I think ang common denominator pag ang country ay may universal healthcare system ay nagiging inefficient at long waiting time. Kahit dito sa NZ, I don’t really trust yung ibang GP and clinic, I had experience it first hand, sobrang sakit ng sikmura ko that time, nanghihina at namumutla na ko. Hindi nila ako inaccomodate agad. I had to wait around 5 hours para macheck up ng doctor and found out na paracetamol lang ang ibibigay na gamot. Since that happened, bumibili na lang ako ng OTC medicine sa chemist. Maganda and free ang healthcare system pag major ang health issue at emergency talaga ang case otherwise maghihintay talaga hangga’t kaya mo pa.

all we hear about is how great Canada's health care is , but it is fast becoming a joke, too many immigrants, few doctors, limited care, long wait times for elective surgeries. Drugs are legal, so many overdose deaths. And everyone is depressed, on anti-depressants and in DEBT, long term DEBT!

Their expectations were not met and that’s what makes them disappointed. I would rather focus on how we could work it out no matter what come what may. It was also the comparison of how and what they are before in our country that I think led their decision to go back. They have already a good life there. With regards to MRI it’s true na matagal ang paghihintay peru walang bayad, the convenience of our health care system compared sa atin kahit sa America maganda dito. Saan ka nakakita ng ma-triple bypass ka dito libre, ako i had my gallbladder and ear surgery na dito way back then libre. Too much expectation even a comparison led to frustration.

Tama yan, free ang health care system dito but not that good. Laging may wait time for important tests. Tama din yan kahit skilled ka even if matagal ka na dito, you can get stuck in low paying job, sometimes temp jobs. That's my story too and we've been in Toronto for 14 yrs na. Still living in an apartment. Of course, it's a different story for everyone in terms of job opportunities but the health care system kinda sucks across the board.

THIRD REASON: CONCERNS ABOUT FINANCIAL STABILITY AMONG PERMANENT RESIDENTS AND CITIZENS I STRONGLY DISAGREE.

Their heart is full of hatred and insecurities, kahit na yung mga tumanda na dito. Crab mentality is at its peak in Canada. Reason being siguro ay hindi masyadong educated yung mga Pinoy na pumunta dito before and they just hate yung mga Pinoys na pumupunta dito ngayon na mga college graduates, etc. I can speak for this because I was a victim of extreme bullying by a Pinoy. Wala siyang college degree at kung mag try kang mag explain ng something na nalaman mo (in a polite way and related sa safety, like pagsuot ng harness, or buddy system sa pag-akyat ng rooftop kung may blizzard) nung nag engineering ka ay, maooffend siya. Sabihin pa... "Bakit sino bang boss mo?" Yan parati yung diga nya, name-dropping. To cut the story short, never blindly trust a Pinoy when you are abroad. Sila yung purveyor ng Crab mentality in action. Alive and kicking pala dito. Do not be discouraged however to come to Canada if you want uplift your lives or your children's. You are always welcome here. Just keep in mind not to blindly trust them Pinoys.

Hello, we are a Canadian Citizen here in Edmonton, AB since 2005 and was a Respiratory Therapist back home in the Philippines but we need to go back to school for 3 years in order to practice our profession. But because that time we have small kids we decided not to pursue RT. Here in Alberta, all Diagnostic tests such as MRI are Free (for citizen and PR, but not sure for international students). I've undergone MRI 3x and it only took me 1 month to wait for an appointment. Mahirap talaga mag expect na magagamit ang profession natin sa Pinas unless you go back to school for upgrading. Vancouver has a very high standard of living. Good luck sa channel nyo Alwin & Emma and God Bless your family.

I can attest to that.. na hindi maganda ang Health System dito.. I was once, had an eye infection, two years ago... 1st- visit, binigyan ako ng resita, pampatak.... No effect, balik ako after 7-days.. iba nang Doktor... Binasa nya and comment ng first check-up... binigyan ako ulit ng anothe resita.. pampatak for 7-days daw... hindi ulit umepekto.. then.. the same, sa third dotor.. iba na ulit ang Gamot...On my 4th visit, sa Inis Ko...sinabi ko sa Dok na How many times pa ako babalik at magpapalit ng gamot ??? Is there a chance na gumaling itong infection ko??.. Nap tanto ko.. since may Health Card ako... bawat visit and every attending Doktor.. Babayaran yon ng Health Canada., naka-apat akong Doktor bago magamot.

Hmm.. this is a classic case of expectations vs reality. He had expectations na kapwa Pinoy, tutulungan siya, or he can get a job commensurate to his profession, or being successful in Canada means you don't get semi-skilled jobs, and availing medical services. Of all places pa, they chose Vancouver. I am not surprised they decided to move to US.

Ung hospice, end of life palliative care sa specialized health care setting. Lahat yan libre.

These are my thoughts about their situation: 1. Talking from experience, most of the Doctors from other countries who are now here in Ontario, Canada ended up as Ultrasound techs. or Radiology techs or Nurses, basta nasa medical field muna and continue on studying and work their way up to their medical proffesions of what they were in the Philippines. 2. Maybe they should have started sa Alberta nga dahil mas mura ang bahay doon. 3. Mabuti at naka pasa sa U.S. sila dahil mas malaki and suwelduhan doon. God always has a plan for everybody.

@@nshobbies Mas latest, innovative at efficient ang Healthcare sa US. People do not die waiting for surgery or specialized care in US unlike Canada. We have free Medicaid for homeless, disabled and low income. We have Medicare for 65 and older folks. Our working age people have privatized Healthcare or govt-subsidized Healthcare aka Obamacare. Hospitals cannot turn people away with or without insurance. I've never seen or heard people remortgaging their house to pay medical bills as people in US can file bankruptcy before that happens. House cannot be taken away in bankruptcy. I have been in US for over 36 years. If one cannot pay, hospitals charge the US govt and US govt pays the bills.Thousands of CANADIAN CITIZENS go to US when they cannot wait any longer for a lifesaving surgery or treatment.

Regarding on the MRI I don't know about the policy in Vancouver because in Alberta you don't have to pay for MRI test based on my experience BUT un nga mahaba ang wait times nila kc it's free and madami ang nka line up and if you want to get it done right away eh you need to pay tlaga un ang downside. Tama nman si Doc kasi for me mas magaling padin ang mga doctor ntin sa pilipinas. Even the united states, singapore and India madaming magagaling na doctor in my view lang nman.

Dr. X and his wife should have applied to migrate to US in the first place. Healthcare workers get paid much higher in US and taxes are lower. Groceries, gas, and other goods are cheaper in US. CANADIAN citizen doctors and nurses have been moving to US in droves for more pay, higher standard of living, better weather and affordable good quality of life than Canada.

Pag doctor/nurse ka sa Pinas pwede sila mag apply as Permanent Resident and then follow thru yung doctorate / nursing nila dito under PR. 1month deposit 1 month advance?

Just a heads up lang madam, itong international student path ay hindi assurance of Permanent Residency. Let’s not spread that rumors. Oo, mas mataas ang chance maging PR pero remember, when you applied for a student visa, nangako kang uuwi after ng education mo, so promoting PR pathway after your education doesn’t seem right.

He don’t need to have a family doctor maraming walk-in clinic or if emergency punta sya sa ER khit saang hospital. Yung copy meron talaga bayad kahit doctor’s note lahat me bayad pero pag nakiusap ka nmn minsan winiwave yung fee.
