I'll be honest Ian, you showed the damage and I thought, what's he doing now, still kinda works, oh, no way, he's going to send it back to the heat of certain death ! And I couldn't watch it mate. Not even joking. So I don't actually know what happened after it took off, it was too sad. It reminded me of the one I flew sideways into a tree at 80ft. Anyway, glad you're back in the air. Keep the vids coming. All the best 👍.

@@kaygeebee1962 Many people use cinewhoops in professional capacities rather than as a hobby. Imagine having a drone following a preprogrammed route going around a house a realtor is trying to sell or rent, without having to worry about it bouncing up and down and needing to stabilize the video in post. Or maybe you're filming solo and need footage of yourself from the air but don't want to bother with monitoring what it does while you do your thing. It's a tool and many hobbyists have learned to use it as such. Before filming professionally, guys like Nurk, Ummagawd and Vanover were hobbyists (ok, maybe Nurk and Vanover were more than just hobbyists, but they started there). But not everyone needs a pro flyer and there are a ton of small time professional needs where automation would come in handy. Free your mind.

As a drone pilot myself this brought a tear to my eye, its unfortunate that it was damaged and couldn't go back home with you. But at least its last send-off was a memorable and touching one nonetheless. It was hard for me to watch, as all my fpv drones and Rc cars have gotten me through some tough times, although strange I consider them as friends despite them being machines, they have so much sentimental value to me and memories tied to them that even beyond repair I wouldn't have had the heart to do so myself as you did. Rest in peace little mini, your service will not be forgotten

As I messaged this fella, disposing of a drone like this in lava in Iceland is irresponsible. This could have been turned over for proper recycling, many of the components of which could have a second life, and without the attendant pollution. To read post after post of whining, preening people bleeding their hearts out at this spectacle is utterly ridiculous. This also sends the wrong message to viewers and gives the drone community a bad name. Even the Icelandic authorities could track this fella down and file a complaint for this nonsense.

But conscienceless psychopaths do seem to think their disability is a super power. It is useful, yes, but let’s not pretend it makes you a better human being. Just a different human being. The rest of us are grateful that there are others who can feel empathy for more than themselves. They have more senses than you do, so they are actually the more evolved people than you are. If you're going to use it for actual photography, you'll make your money back in no time. I started filming my little brother's football games for him so he can go over it with his players. They pay me like $100 per game. But I'm really just doing it for fun and practice. I don't know what the going rate would be to film and edit his games highlights. I also filmed one of my friends weddings for them. They gave me $500. I guess wedding photographers are expensive. Again, I was just doing it for the practice. I haven't even tried to make money, but I've definitely gotten my money back, or close to it.

Whoah...I don't know why but I could feel the loss as the Mini 3 descended into the lava pit. That was so surreal. I was nearly choked with emotion. I'm not sure why I felt that way about a drone's demise and then I saw the operator's face and knew he was feeling the heaviness from the very same tragic end. I'm sure the musical score had a little to do with it too. Imagine when it comes time for all of us to have androids in our homes...

Those dang onions . . . beautifully done. These machines do everything we ask of them, and sometimes much more. They add much to our life experiences, and it would be more surprising if our heart strings were not pulled just a bit when they are damaged or lost.

It was a good idea considering the previous damage, as you captured some great footage there. I cannot believe how long that little guy held out for in that flight, considering you was below the line of the spewing lava🔥 He was just waiting for his master to bring him back, but you didn’t 😂 PS: Love the genuine emotion you had letting it go💔Great video 😎

Really is amazing how some people genuinely take sarcasim as genuine emotion, this isn't just someone saying in gest as several people have said this now, with dozens of agreeable thumbs to match. We see how very easily we are able to be played with as they do on the world stage. Get your air filters on, get your jabby jabby's to stay safe m, so on and so forth. It really was probably incredibly easy to trick millions of people into degrading their own bodies and way of life as just like this, some of us clearly see ,hear, feel, smell amd taste the satire elements while the rest of the sheep get lost in the possibility of it being real.

This was surprisingly touching and very well edited. A nice choice of music too. Although I must confess that right towards the end as the little Drone was hovering over the lava and the picture was steadily getting worse and worse as the sensors died one by one, all I could hear in my mind was "IT'S OVER ANAKIN, I HAVE THE HIGH GROUND!" 🤣 Thanks for sharing with us.

Oh man, this had me in tears! 😄 From the day I first flew mine it became like a little friend. I was going to teach my partner to fly it (he would do a much better job than me as he's an actual pilot and I have terrible depth perception) but the one time he took it out and was tearing around with it I felt like he was playing fast and loose with my soul, so we gave up on that idea 😂

This is sad and emotional indeed but what I find even more sad is the unnecessary environmental damage released to disposing the drone into a burning volcano. Would appreciate proper disposal of the unit. Iceland must offer good options to do so
