9:20 You don’t need to save up 30 days of research. The ahead of time penalty goes down as it is being researched. I’ve tested it. It will take the same amount of days either way.

⁠@@Aldrahillthe way this works is that you select the research you want to rush, while leaving another slot unselected. After thirty days choose another research instead of the one you want to rush. Then use the empty slot to apply an extra thirty days to one you were originally rushing

lol the fact that you get the default focus tree and that you can get the original one back, it's pretty broken if you don't rush it. Two more research slots can be taken in a year and I belive you keep them. Making them 7 in total.

Or we make a total of 8 research slots if we take that research focus tree before starting a civil war. That civil war tag keeps 5 research slots, then add those two research slots via generic focus tree during the civil war with the total of 7 research slots. After the civil war, reset the German Focus Tree and it only keeps Rhineland, but you have a chance to get one more research slot with the total of 8 research slots.

Huh, just realised that technically it would have been possible for you to get 7 research slots if you held out in the civil war long enough to do both the generic research slot focuses. Completely impractical mind but still.

Interesting to try, but I thought the max slots was kinda hard coded. But maybe you can get a few cheeky factories if you have time to do a bunch of 70d focuses.

The best you will get from tag to play funny mustache man during civil war is you can get two research slot or maybe three and when civil war over, you will get back to normal focus.

Actually, you can cheese Anschluss even more now right away - just switch from a fully equipped one-infantry division for all your units, and click the focus before unpausing.

Am I the only person who ever tag switched to f German then got my 2 extra research slots, and did the vanilla extract manpower focus for f nations then win the war and play German with extra manpower and 2 extra research slots. I mean you are behind but also it makes you super op in my opinion. Just kind of sucks you loose your advisors.
