Rasta, people can't ask questions until we give them a story to question. Whatever you need to do is your business. It sounds like you've made a decision and waiting to see if people will affirm that decision There are a lot of things that contribute to your decision to leave. Some you can never explain publicly. You actually gave a clue ( the black man in Jamaica with ambition will never be allowed to...(let me leave it alone) God go with you, live your own life

This is an awesome space ie house and land space. I would love it and it would suit me really well with my big family. I agree with you though, its not for everyone and some mature people are now downsizing to smaller properties or a motor home to cut down on expenses etc. To each is his own, you have to do whats best for you and what works for you. Wishing you and family all the best in whatever you decide to do. Live your life for you, not for anyone else😊

Why do you find it necessary to put this on KZbin, is it just to make money. You have not addressed why you are leaving. It is your business as to why. Jamaica has many challenges, mainly crime, sadly lacking and expensive healthcare, poor infrastructure and a general breakdown in civil society. Despite all the negatives, I personally am on my way back home. I have tried to mitigate some of the risk by opting for a gated community. All the very best for your future endeavours.

Life/Living is movement; a progression of the spirit within a physical vessel. Life’s purpose is to grow, to expand to your most realized self. And this often requires movement that you see clearly, and others may not see. But it is your journey, not theirs. Only you know your path and why.

Ras , I really love the vibes of the channel. You don’t owe anyone any explanation on why you plan to sell your house . My family owns a few properties there in Jamaica and we keep them for family members ( just in case ) . However everyone works so much or have other things going on that we hardly ever get to fully appreciate and enjoy it. So really and truly it’s up to your family to decide. Personally I really think anything we as the African Diaspora specifically Jamaican people or African people should keep to pass on to our future generations. You never know what can happen to maybe your grandchildren or great grandchildren and it’s best to prepare for them as well . Simple to put the house in a family trust and everyone pay the taxes together. Hopefully you will really think before selling it! Peace and blessings Rasta ❤💛💚 best wishes for you and your family!

You've gone and add a very interesting spin on the situation. He'd been very fortunate to have started to acquire the property many years ago, but will any of his Children and Grandchildren to come be in the position to purchase from scratch property in the future. Seeing the pace at which costs are spiralling in Jamaica. NB:*I say this without knowing the family's circumstances* In another decade would be investors might find themselves being out priced and outpaced.

Many people left Jamaica work years in order to build a big house in the bushes or bad area,once you have lived in a first world country you cannot go back to the foolishness. I could say you’d probably see your kids once or twice per year and they would probably spend a day or two at that location and it’s off to the happening areas of Jamaica aka tourist areas 2 Elders living in a house of that size way out in the middle of nowhere in Jamaica is no good,no proper infrastructure in place hospitals etc. Unless you move amongst the upper class and live in there areas you will be limited in the type of social life you have grown use to ,no matter how simple you believe yourself to be one has to be logical,the upper class of Jamaica would probably understand having certain things comes with responsibility and it doesn’t necessarily means you are rich. My dad taught me any where I go to live I should be the brokest one there or else it will be all eyes on me We all know how Jamaica is without a huge trusting family unit to watch out for you,and these days one cannot trust family members who have less than you especially if you are a returning resident Good luck but the idea of traveling RV in and across Europe to warmer places for winter like Portugal Spain Italy etc sounds like a much better I idea to me than retiring in the bushes somewhere in Jamaica,plenty of options in the world Grand Cayman ( living simple it is affordable). There is good and bad food everywhere choose Organic and do your research on nutrition it’s Ridiculous to move to a place like Jamaica for the food by the way Costa Rica is a Food Basket country very very peaceful very retirement layed back friendly so many many other options sell and run from the nonsense you owe no one an explanation Peace of mind and Contentment 🌸💗🌸
@amazed201910 ай бұрын
No disrespect with your comments. I love to travel and experience other countries and cultures too. But for many, there's an unexplained connection to the place you were born, regardless of how "good" or "bad" the place is. Plus, with racism more prevalent in places like the U.S., no matter how bad in Jamaica, you will never experience that level of disrespect in Jamaica because of the colour of your skin or your race. It's not about how you see yourself, it's how others see you and treat you, and they may even take your life because of the colour of your skin. No matter how educated your are or how respectfully you carry yourself, in places like the U.S.A. and England, people will sometimes think they are better than you because of the colour of your skin and want to treat you as less than. This is a whole other level of mental anguish for most people. The grass is not always greener on the other side. A good American friend of mine (a white guy, not that it matters), lived in Costa Rica for several years. He loves Costa Rica and the natural beauty of the place. He told me that there is a community that has people of Jamaican ancestry/Rastafarians there. There are other Jamaicans/ throughout the country -- Jamaicans are everywhere --- but he saw that Jamaicans were discriminated against in Costa Rica. I've never been to Costa Rica, so I have no personal experience, but this is what he saw. I'm just saying there are often tradeoffs to where one decides to live. When you're young, it's often about working to establish yourself, become successful in your career, build a nice house, drive nice cars, provide a good home for your children, provide them a good education and opportunities, being able to afford the things you want. Each person has to make that decision and decide if it's worth it. As I wrote above, the grass is not always greener on the other side.

The individual apartments, finished and unfinished, could be sold. You could keep the bigger apartment for yourself. A property management company could collect the HOA dues from the apartment owners which would include property taxes and upkeep of the property. Sometimes it's ok to want to get away from it all due to the cost and problems, but there is a work around. Wish u well.
