Goodbye LiveU Solo - INSANE BUDGET IRL Stream Setup for UNDER $800

Күн бұрын

A complete IRL streaming backpack setup costing less than $800? It's possible! No more $2500+ backpacks, and $300+ monthly fees to run them. Using latest tech like H.265 and SRT, you can get basically double the quality for the same bitrate, or maintain a much more solid connection, without sacrificing the image quality. With a few clever tricks, your PC at home, and some free tools, you can make your own streaming solution - including disconnect protection, auto scene switching, alerts, overlays, and more!
In-depth, how-to videos covering every detail of the setup are coming soon!
Technology has come far enough that you don't necessarily need a 4G bonded connection to run a smooth 1080p outdoor stream. Heck, even the bonded ones break when you enter a dead zone.
Of course, this setup is not meant for pros, as it's reliability isn't as good, but it's more than enough for the average IRL streamer. It works with your iPhone and Android devices as well, if you want more than Streamlabs can offer.

[OCTOBER 2022 UPDATE]: The TBS Encoder might be harder (and more expensive!) to get now, than it was in 2021. Here's the list of my up-to-date backpack gear, and an encoder alternative with similar specs: kit.co/sprEEEzy/spreeezy-s-irl-backpack-v1 I've made a dedicated tech channel: kzbin.info/door/t3O3ScWSlpGGiXLVMSNJRg - It'll feature all kinds of IRL / Streaming / Tech videos. Instead of using a step-up cable, you could get a USB-C power bank compatible with Power Delivery (PD), which are very common these days, and then use a PD trigger to trigger the 12V output. Some battery can even output 20V@3A with PD, which gives 60W.

Mate, this is brilliant! I just tried my first twitch today from the batbike. Just gopro through phone to twitch. I lost connection on fast roads frequently and bitrate drops periodically. I think i may try this hardware combo. My power is sorted from the bike so thats no issue. Might wait while summer for now. Motorcycle season nearly over. But this is the next step for me, if my stream goes anywhere. Thanks again pal.

seems like they're discontinuing and replacing this TBS encoder part - most of the h265 encoders on market are getting pricier especially newer ones like the TBS2603au. thankfully they're selling a TBS2603V2 (version 2) with an audio jack, drawback is that it weighs ~60% grams more than the original. but then again, any NDI encoder with HDMI, RJ45 port and preferred H.265 should work... right?

Yeah should work. Or use a mini pc. You probably don't need a good gpu for that and use the build in Intel. But ofcourse it's not turn on and work. You would need to be able to operate it, f.e. with a remote control program from your phone. Maybe some thing could be automised with scripts when turning it on.

I keep coming back to this video. Thank you for this. This might be a lame question , but can I use a camera even if it isn't Hdmi as long as I have a proper adapter?

Hey! Probably, but it'd depend on the exact case.

Why wouldn't you just use the URayCoder HEVC Wireless HDMI to H.264 H.265 IP Encoder? It would eliminate the 12V Step Up USB Cable 5.5 2.1mm. It runs on SONY battery F550, F750, F970. Wouldnt need the TP-Link MR6400 Router because you can connect wirelessly. The price of the encoder are about $1 from each other. gopro ------> hdmi -----> uraycoder w/ sony battery pack ----> wifi with srt and hevc ---> nighthawk/cell phone (hotspot) ------> obs on pc or cloud vps server ------> rtmp -----> streaming site (youtube live, twitch, etc)
