Which everyone already has one, so this was an irrelevant change for the game as a whole, except now only a select few people (Me) won't be able to unlock it, until they bring it back in a year as an event vehicle with probably tons of grind behind it, or a pay wall. And even then everyone who loves big tonk will go get it anyway, so this change to "try and make the Maus more scarce" accomplishes nothing. All its current balancing problems are completely unchanged for everyone who already has one.

Of course I'm not the only shmuck who started playing this game since the latter part of 1.89, and it's not like I'm going to be the last new player there ever will be, and I'm sure there are a few folks who hadn't quite made it to Maus in time, or just didn't/don't care about the German tree. My point is that one of the reasons they gave is that "Maus needs to be more scarce," but the vast majority of the playerbase will surely have long gotten Maus researched before now, at the very least because "Ooh cool giant tonk" if they didn't actually care about the historical significance of the absurd thing. So only the minority of players new from here on out as well as the few exceptions I just listed get to sit on their hands for who knows how long until it comes back and we all unlock it anyway, making the scarcity completely irellevant.

Funny the Doom Turtle performs well at 7.0-7.7 and that's a SuperHeavy Tank Destroyer...its basically an American maus without a turret and uses a 105mm boom stick then a 120mm like the Maus

Any Soviet vehicle with an object designation has 1 or more working exemplars made, and can be mass produced at any time. The Maus was never finished and the panther 2 and tiger 105 were ever only ideas. That being said I still think these tanks should be left in the game because they are old vehicles, pillars of the game at their br. If war thunder truly strived for historical authenticity... I don't think I need to go on further

@@quint2885 True that but for the Maus' sake I'm going to argue that the Germans built two prototypes. As for the panther 2... well there was a wooden prototype turret bult for it and the actual modifications to the Panther production line (which was mass produced) could be made in order to produce it in sufficient numbers I believe. But yeah the tiger 105 is complete paper (both in terms of design and gameplay) and I can't really say I'll miss it since it underperformed even before the ERA patch.

And then there's the people who have researched, purchased, or are in the middle of researching the Maus and have already unlocked it. They get to keep the Maus and still use it, as well as finish the research progression they started. This doesn't affect the people who already had/will have the 'removed' vehicles, all it does is ensure people who just started or those who were just one prerequisite vehicle away from even starting to research the Maus, will never get the Maus outside of either market or event.
