Goodbye... Old friend

A few days ago School of Dragons (Sod) announced that the 8-year-old game will be shutting down forever on the 30th of June, and this upsets me as an old fan of both the brand HTTYD and Sod both have been a great part of my childhood and even now in my late teenage years, it's sad it go. So I decided to commemorate it to give it the final send-off that it deserves and maybe even get some of you reading this to play it before it is gone forever.

This was my childhood game, it was my everything..... I went through my parents divorcing and my cat dieing, and this game was always there for me...... I loved this game, I still do even now, but do not worry. When one door closes another opens. There is a chance another httyd game like this will arise....but I will miss the memories I had with it.... as it was my favourite game...❤️💔💝

Its upsetting partially because if you think about it this is the last relic we have of the httyd series, while we can rewatch movies and series', considering the fact this game had still updated, this is and was the last thing from httyd that kept going. im not counting the dragon rescue riders series either cause its dogshit. school of dragons will always hold a special place in my heart, and i'll never forget the memories i made there

I have played this game for over 8 years. It was my childhood game and i would spend hours and hours every day playing it. I never bought membership or gems and always saved up for dragons. I had a big list of dragons i still wanted to obtain, but as years passed i played less and less... I never really got the chance to obtain certain dragons wich makes me even more sad. It hurts my inner child to see that this game is comming to an end, i will never forget the great time I had playing this game. If another HTTYD game gets released that has somewhat of a similar gameplay, it will never be the same. I logged on today for the last time and said goodbye... I logged of in a nostalgic place with my favourite Dragon beside me and just stood there and thought about the great time i had as a child, waiting 12h for a egg to hatch, playing eel fire game to age the dragon up, flying free around maps and just enjoying my childhood dream of riding a dragon. Rest in peac School of Dragons, ill never forget the memories i have made over the past years and i will never forget the friends i made who suddenly went missing for years..

Well this is sad...I played the game a bit but I uninstalled it because it had micro transactions like all the mobile games that don't survive too long on my phone. But this franchise is beautiful and has potential to have its own massive game on Pc. Like Avatar movies, Ubisoft made Avatar Frontiers of Pandora, the game will be released on 5 dec and it will be a must to play for me personally. Also as a dragon person I love HTTYD and I recommend to all of you World of Warcraft Dragonflight. It's new expansion is all about dragons, you have customisable dragon mounts that have dynamic flight and you got races with other players and the games story is all about dragons. Also it has a lot of HTTYD references. Even the dragon aspects that are literally the Gods of dragonkind are 5 and in the colors of black red bronze green and blue like Toothless and his friends. 😊

I'm actually so sad. This game marked my childhood, as well as the entire HTTYD franchise and fandom. I would play this game all the time in 2014... my brother was the one who helped me make an account when I was only 10, and then we played it together once more in 2022, and today, I logged on for the last time. I will never forget this game or the community that was created by it. Goodbye, School of Dragons. It was an amazing 8 years.

Silverstream, the shockjaw i freed from that hunter's cage all those years ago, my first ever dragon.. Peril, my second dragon and first ever titan, the monsterous nightmare whom's firey might never ceased to inspire me.. Whiteout, the groncicle who washed up so far from home, the dragon i protected and raised that in turn, showed me the same amount of love... To them, and all of my other dragons, all the other dragons i raised from hatchlings..some i never had the chance to ride..taken away far too soon..hopefully, we may fly together in vallhalla..

I just learned of it's shutdown tonight. It's very sad to see the game go but I'm glad my brother's and I got to play on our little Amazon Fire Tablets lol. We always loved sitting outside and talking about what dragons we were going to hatch, or trying to get in the same servers together to fight against the incoming ships.
