I give monthly to this organization because I believe strongly in what they do. This story broke my heart. Beyond that, I wondered why Thang's paw, shown in a photograph, still had an overgrown claw, imbedded in her pad? I am curious why, something so painful was not taken care of during any of her care?! Hi there, thank you for your support! One of the first things our vet and bear care team do during the initial health check at the bile farm is cut the bears' claws which are often very overgrown. In some cases if a nail has ingrown it might be dangerous to remove it without full medical equipment. Our vets will always assess if they think something is causing pain and if so, will seek to sort that as soon as possible. In this case we don't think this was causing Thang Long any pain.

Her soul now cross over and will be repaired in the higher energetical vibrations. Some soul cross over to earth just to experience a tough life and when you come and rescue them their mission is over and complete. It seems sad, but souls are made up of energy and energy never dies. She will have the maximum joy on the "other side". So no need to be too sad. In the end you helped her to fullfill her challenge on earth and be faster back home..
