Goodbye, Our Sarah Jane Smith: A tribute to Elisabeth Sladen

I wish that these memorial videos weren't so sad. The beautiful thing about Elisabeth Sladen and our beloved Sarah Jane was that she made us so happy, that we have so many joyful memories because she was so magnificent and witty and clever and wonderful. Let's remember that, because that's what's important. Not that she died, but that she lived and she was happy and amazing and we love her, and there is no tragedy in that.

I rather imagine that Sarah Jane Smith would still be on a star following her own journey to wherever it takes her to? A meeting prepared for her with her doctor, both the 3rd and 4th, who brings her home again, not an easy journey her future is not the end be a different adventure. Liz, oh, the pleasure to see that smile a greeting with a wild side of truly a heart to get to the truth as Sarah Jane Smith companion, friend, and listener, a time travelling hero. It doesn't take bravery to be a hero it is being truly amazing and witty and downright prepared to do what it takes. Liz was a fantastic talented actress and had such a fantastic life whether in a tardis on Banman Rd she was fantastic, totally fantastic. Glad to have known you Liz thanks for the time you spent with us all. Taken too soon, but a lot of good memories. Sarah Jane Smith is not goodbye, just a wish you a good journey in the greatest journey to come. Bless and good wishes from everyone.

no I think she would be traveling with Tom's doctor. She and Tom had a special bond and chemistry that was legendary. When Tom came into Dr. Who he was so nervous. Liz was there for him and helped him to realize just how good he would be as the Doctor. They appreciated each other's friendship very much. They even wrote there last scene together themselves. Great video.

+RassilonTDavros I know Tom is not dead. What I mean't was that if you could ask Liz what Doctor she would most like to travel with it would be Tom's Doctor. From everything I have read, heard in interviews of Liz and Tom's and there co-workers have said Tom and Liz had the best connection. I loved watching them together and thanks to DVD, I still can. I hope we have Tom for a lot longer and maybe see him back in Doctor Who in some more guest spots or on T. V. or in film. Make sure everybody sends Tom and his family a Christmas wish on his Facebook page. He will have a video up there soon wishing his fans a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. God bless.

The only episode I've ever seen with Sarah Jane is School Reunion...but it was enough to make me fall in love with her as a character. I never really got to know her, but I still cried when I heard she had died!

Oh how can one explain the impact an actress/actor can make on a young one? Sarah was so sweetly innocent yet strong when she had to be. What a wonderful balance. And it shows how you cannot hide the actress behind the role she plays completely. I still sorrow after her. I feel with her passing, we have lost a bit more innocence that we clung to through her. This world was not worthy of her. Thus the Cosmos laid her gently to rest and the stars now kiss her goodnight above her grave........

When are they going to make an episode that clearly tells us that Sarah Jane has passed away? They could make a fantastic episode based around her funeral, with the doctor and a lot of companions that knew her, and her team from the SJA. It could be centered around the doctor's speech, he could start itand lead us into a flashback of him meeting her and their most special moments together, then back in the present he continues and finishes his speech, it would be a great tearjerking moment :')

What a terrible couple of years for Jon Pertwee fans. First Barry Letts, then Nicholas Courtney, and now Elisabeth Sladen. Sladen's death being especially hard to take given her age, the suddenness, and the fact that she was still so energetic and full of life. I grew up watching Liz as Sarah Jane Smith. She was a part of my childhood and one that I will never forget. She will live forever, at least in the memories of millions of Doctor Who fans. I miss her already.
