A complete change of pace. It's good, especially the payoff at the end, but personally not my favourite arc. Definitely not a bad one though, just different.

This episode until the last bit when ichigo wokes up is filler. In the manga he woke up after he collapsed after Aizen battle and said goodbyes to Rukia that was the actual end of Arrancar Arc.

The thing about Ichigo is his power never define what kind of person he is, Power to Ichigo is always a mean to protect others, not a end. Which means if no threat appear after Aizen and everything is OK, then Ichigo would be glad to give up his power because he has no need or use of his power any more. After the battle against Aizen, Ichigo doesn’t see lose his power as much of a deal since to him this should be the last enemy he need to fight, and a normal life is something he always want. So at that point even someone offer him a method to restore that power he won’t say “I shall accept that”. Power never define what kind of person Ichigo is

I disagree a bit. Yes power never define the kind of person Ichigo is, but he considers power essential to him. AFter losing his powers against Aizen, he is clearly affected. Why do you think Tensa Zangetsu refuse to teach him FGT? Cause he knows how important his powers is to Ichigo. And it also shows in the early part of Fullbring. like the monologue of him thinking "I got what I wanted now, a normal life" but his face doesn't show happiness but melancholy. Even the first poem of this arc is him contemplating how he is gonna adjust to his life now. So he may hesitate but he will definitely accept the method to restore his powers.

@@chasinghaze0962 It is not like that, power is a part of him and losing that will make Ichigo feeling incomplete, and the life he lived will be strange to him although this is the life he want to live. Ichigo is in a confuse stage and can’t really make up his mind of what he truly feel about this new life. But really to Ichigo if every battle need to fight is over, he will be the same and live his normal life with or without his power. But of course at Fullbring Arc it is not time for him to put down his sword

@@chasinghaze0962 To Ichigo power is something he could have or could not have, it doesn’t affect the life he want to live is normal life, but when something happened that would be a time that he want us power, like keep a fire extinguisher in house in case your house is on fire, now Ichigo does not have that fire extinguisher but the chance house gone fire haven’t completely gone yet

@@yuqingchen9851 well the thing is hollows will always exist. And so are other supernatural entities. In volume 3, he says it himself that he wants to protect as many souls and people as possible. He is not the old him anymore who only cares about protecting his closed ones. He will protect anyone who needs protection. So power will always be necessary for him. Even with no enemies, having powers will always give him a sense of security for himself and others.

@@yuqingchen9851 yes he wants to live a "normal" life. But he wants to live his life with his loved ones. He wants to face challenges in life together. Without his powers, he will clearly feel alienated from his friends and other people like his Dad or Urahara. That's the fullbring arc. If Orihime, Uryu, Chad, his family and his other friends become normal people, only then Ichigo will be fine with no powers. Imo
