@goodchildren I can totally relate to this subject. Everyone seemed to be struggling for social adjustments sake seems to be universal. For me, it’s the 60s-70s for junior(k to 5) and junior high(6-8). It was no easier, it was probably harder, no open dialogues about sexuality, no teaching seriously about prejudice. It’s was thrown into the deep end and figure it out. I think our social adjustment gets screwed up so badly because there just still isn’t any proper assistance with navigating personal growth challenges, literal puberty, to why am I so gaga over my bestie? I think these years will always be challenging and needed. But how we absorb it and u derstand it, is where a difference can be made.. this episode really engaged me. TYSM😁❤️🇨🇦

A teacher actually locked Andrew in a storeroom? Child abuse! Your description of the 'wrong key' performance was very funny ('though, I appreciate, not at the time). It sounded from your reminiscenses that Andrew's wrong-key entry caused a mass fainting among the chorus, whose members were so stressed that they simply lost consciousness! In all seriousness, I've just found Andrew as Loyola Chimes soloist in 'SOB', I Don't Want to Be', 'River', and 'Man in the Mirror'. Pretty darned good! I'm a former classical choral singer and I'd suggest you practice sight-reading and perhaps dip your toe in some lessons with a good teacher; a GOOD teacher would provide invaluable honest feedback on your ability and ability to read music would expand your versatility so much!
