Some reasons smooth stone is good for redstone are: 1. It's not a natural block, so we can tell easily if we placed it for redstone purposes vs something like regular stone, which is everywhere underground. I don't see it used much in builds or use it myself either, so that's another advantage of visibility. 2. It has a border around it, so it's easy to count blocks. 3. It's light colored, so good visibility. 4. It's relatively easy to obtain.

also 5. doesn't instamine, so harder to accidentally break it!! and 6. cheap and easy to get in bulk!

A wildebeest is an African antelope (kind of like a deer, but more closely related to goats) that can run up to 50mph, and a klick is 1,000km; which is over 621 miles. I don't know what he means by "can outrun a wildebeest *AT* 1,000 klicks", but I infer that to mean that he can run over 50mph for 621 miles straight. Also, unless you propel yourself with only your feet and ankles while running, then the calves are the third most important muscle group relative to running after the glutes and hammies. All that being said; those are some impressive calves.

If you had powdered snow placed on a face of the stamp dropper and below shulker breaking piston you wouldn't need to seal the drop hole as the snow would remove any horizontal momentum of the dropped items. Although having the holes sealed it's probably the best anyway. Don't want no hermits (and mobs) falling down there.

I think items flow faster on ice. But since the production has the same speed, the difference would be minimal. In the scenario that you stand by an empty chest and don't want to wait like 15-20 seconds longer for the next thing to arrive, it'd matter. Though the time for placing all that ice is pretty deep.
@Rychleji3 ай бұрын
The mail system is fairly simple tbh. Just massive undertaking and a lot of stuff that could go wrong. But the underlying idea and mechanics to make it possible are fairly straightforward. so about that ice speed discussion. it's not 100% true that ice ground is faster then stone ground. the problem is the water. the source block doesn't push the item 100%. it slows down the item before it's pushed. I've tested this by creating a water track of 100 blocks with an ice and slab each 4 blocks and one each 8 blocks. the one with 8 blocks was significantly faster. then I created 3 more lanes , 1 with blue ice, one with packed ice and 1 with stone and a slab with blue ice on each 8th block. the ice lanes were the same speed but were faster. than the stone lane. however it didn't make sense that the blue ice and packed ice were the same speed. so I added a blue ice block after each stone slab on the stone lane (and one after the dispenser) and the item was the same speed as full ice. in conclusion you don't need to make the lane for the item transportation in full ice. just the blocks under and after the slab.

all ice makes no difference, the only reason why ice makes boats faster is because of a bug, but it cannot make regular entities move faster. can easily test by pushing a boat with water on ice
@It-b-Blair3 ай бұрын
Ice makes a difference, blue is faster. The reason why your test shows no difference is because they have a max speed in water. A better test would be to throw down lines of different ice, 20 blocks or so, and push items down them with slime block pistons.
@kikivoorburg3 ай бұрын
@@It-b-Blair While it's true that ice is faster without water, the question at hand is whether it matters what blocks are under the water portion of the water stream. In old versions it did matter, because items sank in water, so if the water was on ice the items could slide faster. Now that items float I'm pretty sure they don't ever make contact with the ground and thus travel at full speed regardless of ground-material. Assuming I'm right about that, it would mean scar has no (practical) reason to replace the whole ground with ice. (Though I agree with etho that it does look slightly nicer.)
@TheBoopidoop3 ай бұрын
@@It-b-Blair as @kikivoorburg said, that test's irrelevant to the question. while the items are in water, they can only reach up to a maximum speed, with the deceleration over a single block of packed or blue ice being so low that its negligible, so using packed ice is cheaper. using ice under the water simply wastes 8 blocks of ice
