FUN FACT: Epitaph's hologram is the 3D model of the Guardian that was supposed to be the boss in the eponyme cut level, which would be recycled into a map of the same name.

Something about this map always made it my favourite, aesthetically, of any Halo map. So peaceful, high in the desert. Halo 3 always had the prettiest Forerunner architecture, though CE was close.

@Anklebiting Biggest reason I don't like what 343 did with Halo is how badly they portrayed the Forerunners, first by making them generic aliens, then by making all their tech and structures into boring recycled 'glowy floaty bits'. It's a pervasive and infectious visual design across all Sci-Fi - advanced tech must glow and float for no reason. And I hate how unimaginative it is. Such a lazy way to portray mysterious technology. It's the Sci-Fi equivalent of putting spikes on everything from Fantasy.

@@jessegauthier6985 343's mistreatment of the Forerunners is definitely a big reason for my dislike of them as well. With Bungie's era, the architecture they designed was quite obviously futuristic and built by an advanced race, but had enough weathering to show their age. Most if not all of them, were also very inert - no floaty bits, no glowing or flashing lights to indicate that they had just been built yesterday, which only further enhanced the "advanced but also ancient" look which helped emphasise the Forerunners' enigmatic nature.
