@Dustin Rogers I love Common Man's Collapse and I'm glad other people appreciate it as well, however Exoplanet is more monumental in what it accomplishes by blending so many traits and doing it perfectly into one album. Exoplanet has no bad tracks, Common Man's Collapse has a few tracks that are not up to par with the rest of the album; in fact they just copied a few tracks from All Things Set Aside and put it onto Common Man's Collapse.
@xxBornOfChoasxx6 жыл бұрын
@Dustin Rogers I mean all of the albums you listed were good, if not elite, no doubt; however when it comes to the peak and the best instrumentation and lyrics(I mean seriously if you haven't yet looked at Jonathan's lyrics for this album you need to, it is a concept album and this is another reason why people say this album is the best ever) this album stands on an island. This band was the first to really make deathcore progressive, if you look at The Contortionist now they are one of the best progressive acts in the game and thus have attracted a whole new audience of fans, which speaks to how sublime their instrumentation is. However this is another reason why people more into deathcore/metalcore don't really like this album because it switches up time signatures a lot(this is why it is progressive deathcore).

I wouldnt call this death metal, but yeah :P

@@davecrupel2817 Yeah I've thought about that as well but Deathcore is the best genre to categorize them into; they definitely don't fit the metalcore brand, but they do enough death metalish things with their vocalist and guitarists that place them into the Deathcore realm lol.

sacredgeometry has a point. It’s not worth them re-redoing the album, but it bothered me, too. But I guess only if they could switch the guitar tones and hands fast enough to play it so that it sounds like that, it wouldn’t be as much a big deal to me. You can do some fast hand repositioning, but towards a certain point there will be string scrape hiss if they have to move horizontally to play it. I don’t feel like figuring out how to play that part so I guess I won’t know for sure. Still sounds a little odd how it changes that fast.
