Pam's static line story is true, I felt my first one was a conditioned response. The next 10 I did for the fun of it, including free fall and best fun was unstable exit... Landings were mixed, many were on target, but one the instructors panicked as I had to land downwind to avoid a stack of bails... gives additional velocity to the vertical velocity hence harder landing... TBH I found the evacuating in a citroen 2CV across the field worse than the landing.
