"Vinaigrette" comes from "vinaigre", which is quite simply vinegar in French. So yeah, no "vinegarette" here ;) and vinegar comes from vinaigre, which comes from "vin aigre", that you can translate as "sour wine" :D so french all the way :)

@@ldj007 I can confirm, there are schools where I live that are French first language and I live no where near Quebec. Canada is such a melting pot though that more people speak Italian and Russian than French in my city though.

@@kaldo_kaldo that's one of the northern-most areas in the province of quebec. Once you hit that far north its largely Inuit communities.... the answer is most likely yes and no...There are pockets of anglophone communities in quebec just as there are pockets of francophone communities within every other province..... but regardless Québec is largely french speaking and, by area, is the #1 largest province and, by population, second largest. So, it was just humorous that they called it a 'sliver'

Oh my gosh, I feel so much better now knowing it's not just me who's mixed up languages! I was learning German while overseas. I'd already learned the language of the country I was living in (Indonesian) and speaking it occasionally for about a year when I started learning German. I completely crossed the two languages in my head and don't always realize when I switch from one to another (which I felt really bad about) and thought it was just me because I couldn't find anyone else who'd had the same experience!

I have only ever heard vinaigrette pronounced the way Stevey does as vinegar-ett . However, as someone from the UK I can tell you that Worcestershire sauce is pronounced Woostershire pronouncing Shire like they do in The Lord Of the Rings films

I always associated the word “French” before a word to be interchangeable with “Fancy”. Meaning you go the extra mile with making a thing enjoyable. Fancy fries, fancy nails, fancy kiss, yada yada yada

Tatum Gross i think French tips look the most clean and classic. My salon even charges a little extra for it because it is tedious to make look right
