Really appreciate Josh trying to explain that everything is viewed our own cultural lenses and what is weird to you might be completely normal in another country. Living in Korea, there is lots of fusion food because of influence of other countries food, but it doesn't make it that unusual. The USA can be inventive in that way too. There are lots of American foods that seem weird to me as an Australian and I've never had the chance to try. Josh also made the good point of how lots of American food becomes normal to people around the world because of American soft power and American-centric media.

We all have access to most of the same foods but because of circumstances like climate, environment and other factors we cook and store foods differently according to our needs and what is more convenient to us. I also agree with Josh, that America is known in Asian countries as an amazing country and food from the USA are often imitated because we don’t have immediate access to it. So our best bet is to recreate some of the food we see in American pop culture and tweak it a little bit so it fits the general population’s taste.

@@docstar84 Keep in mind that a lot of the "experimental" Asian foods that you know about are because they were "experimental" to them too. It's like someone from Korea knowing about American fried butter. Its something a lot of Americans knows about but few have tried.
