How to use the Goodnature A18 Squirrel trap effectivley

Looks like exactly what I need, however I have searched for a few days without success. Any idea how I could get my hands on one of these in the USA?

@Dusty German Thanks, and yes, I googled quite a bit. I ended up getting one using myukmailbox. There was really no other way that I found to get one.

Used the A24, put some thought into setting it and it works - OK, but does not beat other forms of trapping, for the price it should, the idea is spot on, but it's not a fast track to killing rats, used in conjunction with other forms of trapping and Rodenticide it's got it's place.

Not possible in our area. I have quite a collection of powerful pellet rifles and pistols. I live on one acre just outside the city limits of our township. But no matter which direction I shoot there is a risk of hitting another home, car, person or animal. I'd rather trap them to lower the risk and potential law suits.

@@gwrace, I am in the same situation , but I cured that problem by finding the least place that would risk another house , Then put up a backdrop of old used skids and bales of hay or straw ,or an old blanket , then added bird seed and thrown table scraps , Pow, Pow , Pow 5000 BB's is under $10 bucks And a good gun is under $75 I had mine for 12 years and still have BB's And I get practice shooting Price Improved shooting Eliminating vermin Fun It's a Win ,Win, Win ,Win Situation !

@you cant I don’t understand what you mean by “I could make a listing, then send it”. I don’t think the UK company is shipping to the US. I haven’t call them to find out but they confirmed by email that the US doesn’t carry this particular model A18. I have so many squirrels in my backyard because I have massive tree nuts. I don’t want to use bait. I just want a quick fix.

@you cant I created an account on eBay but I only purchased one item a while back. Paid the seller for the item, received the item and that’s it. If you don’t feel comfortable to put your eBay user name on YT, how is it ok for me. I don’t know how we can do this. You wrote “it is easy, just list it” but isn’t you that list the A18 Squirrel Trap. We are going around in circle😀 I do appreciate that you are trying to help me. I am just not very familiar with eBay, when I search for this product, nothing is coming up except pics of squirrels.

There are companies that set up mailing addresses in the UK for you, and then forwards shipments on to you in the US. THe way it works is, you buy a UK product, have it shipped to the UK address the company assigns you, then they forward it from the UK to your US address. It costs on average $20 to forward it on, but the only way I have been able to get certain products. Forward 2 you is the company I am using to get this product. Just ordered, wish me luck!

you're thinking of trap as a (VERB) when really its a (NOUN) = to catch and retain an animal. and the definition of retain as a verb is to CONTINUE to have something . continue being the key word.

traditional mousetraps usally kill mice. There may be some squirrel traps where the animal survives long enough to be given a stern talking-to by a magistrate and after a thirty-minute powerpoint presentation by a volunteer in a tabard it learns the negative effect its behaviour can have on decimated native wildlife. This is followed by a counselling session with a licensed animal hypnotherapist which seeks to establish the root causes of its offending. Poison bait, cage and Fenn traps are what the professionals use. Not this grossly overpriced item. This item as a trap would still have to be checked daily. £200++ for all the bits, cover, counter, gas and bait. No Thanks! Surprised that you're pushing it..

Oh? How much do you charge for your poison man/single snap visit, and each subsequent visit? (And no, I'm not 'against' poison. But in some circumstances it's not an option). Do you charge for a set time period of a few months, and it includes a few checkups? $350 CAD here for the orkin knob to come by and put some poison in a plastic box. Brilliant. $236-277+tax for the A24 (depending if with digital counter and all that jazz or not). Cheaper if one buys multiple traps. No, they don't need to be checked everyday, certainly not for them to function properly and continue to kill. Btw, don't confuse me with one of these "ohhh, be kind to the rat/squirrel, *namaste* idiots. Or a rep. or something. I'm just saying, there's more to consider than just the up front cost of one method to another, especially if someone is going to actually have a company do it for them, rather than do it themselves (whether snap style single kill traps, poison, or this thing. -I have one, no luck yet. I caught a few with metal snap traps, to my surprise. No bias here. I like the fenn traps design, but $50, fuck that. I think the metal, or wood snap traps, with modifications, are the best value. But it's a bit of a hassle constantly checking and setting them up/baiting them, etc. Are you in the U.K. by chance? If so, how much do those blokes who come by with an air rifle and clear out 10-40 rats in a night charge? Haha.

My husband works for Ecolab as a pest control tech (hes a district manager) and they were looking into ways to use less poison. They understand the damage poison can cause on the environment and they have looked into this item. It is pricey but they're trying to manufacture their own type of CO² trap. But you're correct as far as the average person getting this. It would probably be great outdoor but indoor it would probably not be best. The good thing is that this resets itself so you can catch multiple in one night. I havent seen it fail to kill anything. I think it's a great tool for companies that are trying to get rid of poisons. Live traps and glue traps are annoying.

Gray squirrels have been declared an invasive species everywhere they’ve been introduced, driving red squirrels to near extinction. Greys compete with reds for food and also carry a virus known as squirrelpox. While greys are actually immune to the disease, they transmit it to reds, for whom it is fatal.

This thing is a scam. It does not actually come with any bait so out of the box it is useless, and when you go back to the website you find they do not have any squirrel bait for sale, just options for mice which do not work. Additionally the "kill counter" is triggered by the slightest vibration so it will increment even though the device has never gone off. You can put it out without the CO2 canister and over a week or two the counter will show it went off repeatedly. Don't waste your money on this worthless scam.

The A24 works perfectly, and has been successful in killing mice on my property where other traps have failed. I have found the counter to work well if installed correctly. I would highly recommend it.

The bait is called peanut butter which is available in one or two stores in your city

Really, you can not get hold of peanut butter?? And if you mount it on something solid (as you should) the counter should not be triggered.
