By renewing His mercies every morning. There are seasons in life when our soul is dry and we feel depressed. I was going through a wilderness and at one point I had to force myself to "Bless the Lord, oh my soul", and go back to reading the Word daily in spite of feeling and apparently getting nothing, and praying with my Bible open because I felt like I had nothing to say so I could just point to God's promises and hope for something to happen. And God renewed me once again like He's done so many times before. This song touches me because as I look back on my life, there were many seasons of despair and confusion and yet I can see God's hand in every situation I faced, allowing many tears to bring me to a saving knowledge of Yeshua, crushing my pride so I can recognize the One true God.
