Rocking horse turned out great! Fraying the tail was the right call. And even though there aren’t any spectacular quilts or afghans this week, you got some really good linens, pillow shams and quilting fabric. Jami, I think the dark green velvet quilt was a good pick-up too.

A good sturdy horse tail is an easy job. Start by making a tassel, the approximate length for the tail. Use thread to tightly wind around the base, so that you are getting a secure hold. Trim the base flush with the thread. Add a drop of super glue to the base to hold the threads together and make a plug. Then use a wood glue (or hot glue) to secure the plug into the hole. Style the tail as needed. Hope that helps.

The horse's tail is perfect. It's much better than leaving it ropey. Now it has a pretty crimped look.

Horsing around at the bins, really transformed the rocking horse! Amazed at the comeback of crocheted afghans! Even here in upper east coast they are popular! Blessed days!

Why used dark wax?? It’s better without it, it is now looking like its original mess again after all your hard work on this horse? Maybe just a little sanding on the edges that would have been sufficient. But the tail is great!
@alisa-c2sАй бұрын
I, personally, think that a lot of diy'ers are getting too obsessed with the white paint. Some of the items, this horse included, imho, would look more authentic if left with the original raw wood color just highlighted with some wax or other coatings wich would keep the original color and highlight the wooden grain and texture. But, again, this is to my taste.
