Hey Karen, the reason the paper backing of paintings are removed on most donated art work is that people who clear out the houses of people who have passed away check behind those backings before donating. The elderly are known to hide money between paintings and the paper backing.

You can tell a men's clothing item from a women's by the direction they button. When you are looking at an item the men's buttonholes are on the right and buttons are on the left. The opposite for women's.

Shipping Coats, with the shipping cost increase. I ship many coats in the Medium Flat Rate clothing box (the wide, flat one, not the cube shaped box) by folding them to shape first and sliding them into a clear retail bag, then sliding the bag into the box. It won’t take the largest of coats, but will do many and the price is controlled by whatever USPS is charging for The Med FR Box. It gets picked up at the house and still allows me to ship them Priority when they fit. More of the large coats are being shipped Parcel Ground (with insurance added if the price point justifies it) or FedEx, if I’m planning a trip to town for something else. Like u, I’m trying to avoid trips to town just to drop off FedEx packages.

Vermeer painting: had to laugh when you said you didn’t think it was an original, since the original is in a museum in The Hague, though at one point in its history (when it was about 200 years old) it did sell very cheap, because of the poor condition it was found in.

Ms. Karen, is there not a UPS/Fedex drop-off close to your home or thrift area? I've saved a good bit just by dropping off at an "access point". There are three UPS drop-off's within 4 miles of my house (1 - 1 mile from my house across from the post office) and I live in a very small town in Alabama!
@pamelafisher19862 жыл бұрын
Southern Unlimited...u wouldnt have proof if u dropped off in one of those boxes right?
@brianhenry23852 жыл бұрын
My area lacks UPS and FedEx locations too, but what we do have are Store fronts (that work like the old Mail Boxes, Etc) that are contracted to take USPS/FedEx and UPS packages, in addition to doing other things like renting mailboxes and selling packaging products. The carrier drivers come by daily and pick-up, scanning as the load the items into their trucks. It saves me about an hour’s drive to my nearest actual FedEx storefront. You might have something like that around.
@southernunlimited93062 жыл бұрын
@@brianhenry2385 yes sir, we have several pharmacies that act as the access points and thankfully are nearby, both UPS, FedEx and the post office are all within a 1/4 mile of each other. I hate to hear they want to charge for a pick-up though...that's crazy.
@brianhenry23852 жыл бұрын
Charging for pick-ups is frustrating. I have begun using USPS Parcel Ground rate more, for mid-size packages. The funny thing about the USPS pick-up scheduling software is that they will come up the drive and pick-up a single First Class package, with a label costing as little as $3.49, but will not have the carrier pick-up a single Ground package, even though the label costs $8-20 dollars, unless you have a least 1 Priority or First Class package to go with it. Makes little sense.
