I couldn't believe that antique dressing mirror was already sold! I have been looking for one too. Hopefully they will have lots more great stuff. I plan on checking back with them often. Goodwills in Wisconsin vary in prices and they don't discount furniture unfortunately. We have some other thrift stores that are cheaper. It's fun to see what's available on the west coast! Thanks for letting us shop with you!

I was so surprised to learn from you that GW had dedicated furniture stores. I have never seen that. Here in Jacksonville Fl there are a lot of GWs but they can be 20 miles apart. Around my area on market place the average price for furniture is $100. Which is crazy when it needs worked on and I paint furniture and when you pay $100 and go to sell it no one wants to pay what your asking but I can’t give it away

😣 Feel your pain about pricing. From this tour, seems like those Sacto thrift stores have fairly interesting merchandise for more affordable pricing👍. LA can be💲outrageous💸 for even seriously dated vintage goods. If I'm gonna pay⚜boutique (or antique) prices on anything mass produced from the 20th Century, I want the whole 🛍boutique experience. Plus, it had better be outstanding or at least in good condition. Not willing to slum for some💰pricey cast-off that has seen better😝decades. 😍Not into thrifting for the purposes of reselling, but I admire those that do it.😉There's space for all kinds of resellers, but you gotta understand your market. Everybody deserves to make a living -- and be paid for their contribution toward beautifying something. More power to you -- if can command top dollar💵 for your finds &/or upcycles. 🏆Unless remarkable in design or workmanship, would pass on $100+ for what amounts to a solid hunk-a-junk wooden dresser that demands serious 💪elbow grease, ⚒ tools|supplies, and 🎨 expertise 🖌 to refresh & revive. 🙄You probably live in an ultra thrifty community who would rather🔨DIY than pay for someone else to do it for them. 🤔Or, perhaps they simply aren't able to set much aside for those things. 👩‍💻Instead would scour free online listings or 🚘drive around the night before🗑trash day looking for cool curbside finds. 🛑Stop for furniture roadkill anyway. Those goodwill prices are amazing. The trend on pricing is also determined by the area. That green couch first shown would be $300 at my local goodwills. Maybe higher. When goodwill prices items more than buying new it's hard to convince people to reuse and recycle.

I looked this week and it seems goodwill is pricing higher in 2021. I saw a console table for $49.99 that would have been 29.99 4 months ago at the same goodwill. Pricing on smalls, baskets, dishes has not risen but furniture is much much higher. There is a nationwide furniture shortage and long waits for new stock so maybe goodwill has noticed and has responded to greater demand and low inventory with higher prices. Such a shame. I just discovered your channel and it's amazing!!

I love the older brown wood furniture myself. Sometimes I hate to see the pieces repainted but it can look fine in the right room. Younger folks just do not want brown furniture. So I find it reasonably priced with a smaller market for it. I know it is all about the hardware too. A change can do wonders for a piece of furniture. I have 3 older brown wood furniture items in my home. Wish I had more. Must do something about that!! That odd shaped table for a corner for 25.00 was lovely. Now deliver that green couch to me and all will be perfect in my world.

@@LazyDIY-THRIFT I came from big family...nobody got rid of anything before first checking with each family member to see if was something any family member could use. We senior members even "recycled cars" to our teen nieces and nephews who had just turned driving age, so they had wheels for jobs. We gave tvs, furniyure, bedding etc. for newlyweds first apartments...even donations of floering plants and shrubs for first home landscaping. It saved money, helped each other and no one was offended if something wasnt wanted. It was just being a caring, helping family.

Great video! We always wanted to get into furniture but we buy and sell in a motorhome that we travel in full time. Do you think modern or antique furniture is better to resell right now?

My personal opinion is antique furniture. 1. Grandmillenial style is still huge. 2. Farmhouse style is being replaced by Cottage style & French Country. 3. Bespoke and antique furniture were trending with interior designers in 2020 and continuing into 2021. But mixing old and new is also on trend, so maybe a bit of both? Natural finish wood with round, clean lines seems to be making its way into every style. Just my opinion, but I hope this helps ❤️❤️❤️

Tip I learned from a antique expert, when looking for true antique silver platers hold it up in natural light to see if you can find the makers mark. If you don’t see one or see where a sticker was then it’s not a true antique

Only for 1 day, Adele. They cancelled December, so they moved the last day to JANUARY 10. I'm so excited!!!! It's almost here!!! Are you going? Say hi if you see me there. Hopefully I can get a start date for next season.
