That red handle smasher was to blend butter or lard into your flour. It's called a pastry blender. We used them often back in the 1960's. I think I have my mom's.

I just love your videos! I can usually pick what you bring home. I would have paid up for the Fieldcrest spread too! My momma bought Fieldcrest towels in 1973. Tbey were used daily for at least 15 years. I found a complete set the other day in a box my momma packed up about 10 years ago. No dry rot or anything. I was amazed!

What an awesome trip! Loved that basket with the leather handles! I have several of the pastry blenders, red and green handled and use them often when baking, great find and price and the same with the old ironing board! I use those mini Bundt pans to make faux pantry cakes for my primitive decor. Our home is done in very primitive decor, like early 1800’s and saw a few things that go for lots more money at antique shows and estate sales. Love everything you got❤ Debby, NY

I don't go out "hunting" very often, but I've always got my eyes open for Corelle pieces. I rarely find any, which tells me that a) folks in my area hang on to theirs, or b) when anything does show up, the regular crowd snaps them up! Same thing is true of Tupperware! Oh well.---I always look through the linens, but don't need a single thing, so it's a frustrating activity!---I was hoping you'd snap up that metal stand...great price!

Thanks for sharing..you scored some really nice pieces at very good prices! Youins have sooo much better prices on Goodwill, and thrift stores items than we do here in Tennessee! Alot of the items youins all thrift for would be 2-3 times that price! Anyway ...always enjoy your videos! Oh, the little Red handle kitchen tool is an older Pastry Blender for blending shortening, butter into flour....mine is red handled as well...passed down from my mother..I still use it on a regular basis ...mostly for my Buttermilk biscuits.I really got a kick out of seeing this in your haul! I have found these multiple times in flea markets, yard sales, thrift stores and Antique stores around here and they're wanting anywhere from $8.00 & up! I've even seen them priced as high as $12.00! NO WAY. Trying to play catch up on your videos I've missed....got behind on them. Thanks again!❤❤

Really enjoyed the video Julie. A few weeks ago I bought the same object as you in an Op shop here in Brisbane. I also thought it was a potato masher but the lady who served me told me it was for making pastry. Mine was made in the UK and when I looked at the end it said 'pastry maker'. I like the way you repurposed it.
