The classic supercars reached their peak in the 2000s. Last generation before Hybrid and Launch Control era Maserati MC12, Ferrari Enzo, Lamborghini Murcielago, Porsche Carrera GT, Pagani Zonda, Koenigsegg CC8s/CCX may be slower than their next generation but they're the last with character, like in the 90s Ferrari F40 or Lamborghini Diablo.

For me, the lower tier of mid-engined sportscars turned into true supercars with the advent of the 458, Mp4-12c, and Huracan. No manual transmissions in sight, massively reliant on electronics for the driving experience, and cars that even began to outperform their more expensive V12 siblings (Aventador, F12) in some metrics. All represented new benchmarks for their respective makers, but were more of a lateral move than a longitudinal one. I'd gladly take a manual F430 over any 458, ditto for a manual Gallardo over any Huracan. Nothing wrong with any of those cars, of course. They just don't deliver the visceral, engaging experience of their predators and derive their driving experience from their performance numbers instead.

I had actually seen a one:77 in person, couldn't figure out what it was until I saw the front and the unmistakable aston grill. It didn't look like any aston I had previously seen. Such an aggressive styling.

I'm strongly standing by my opinion. The Carrera GT is one of the few cars that has an ageless design. A 17 y/o car but looks like it's been made 5-6 years ago constantly.

Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren are engineered and designs from Formula 1 team. Bugatti Veyron has a W16 engine and it consider to be the fastest hypercar. Ferrari Enzo is named in honor of the legendary sports and race car creator Enzo Ferrari. Lamborghini Gallardo is one awesome V10 supercars. Maserati MC12 is the FIA GT inspired hypercard and raced in FIA racing events. Aston Martin One-77 are engineered to be the fastest hypercar with the V12 engine.

With what standard are you basing it off with, I think we should based it on when it was first launch, with that standard I agree that the Audi R8 V8 is not a supercar even with the standard when it was first launched, however the first gen Lamborghini Gallardo is considered a supercar by many Auto Journalist and buyers back when the first generation is launched (I think in 2004) and back in the day The first gen Gallardo is always compared with cars like the Ferrari F430, Ford GT, Porsche 911 GT2 and even the Mercedes Mclaren SLR and the Gallardo bigger brother the Lamborghini Murcielago on daily basis so with the author specifically stated the first generation Lamborghini Gallardo as the car he put to this list then I would agree with the author of this video that the Gallardo is worthy to be added to this list, however if I could change the list then I would replace the Qudi R8 with the 2005 Ford GT as it's a genuine supercar back when it was first launch.
