My main problem with Google Ads these days is their horrendous UX. They are not doing GA Managers any service by making their platform so incredibly difficult to navigate and use. I've been running GA for many years and the system just gets more and more complicated. Unfortunately... they are doing the same thing to Analytics.

Great Video. However, I absolutely hate Google Ads. I used to use Google Ads quite often a few years ago. I took a break to re-develop my site. Then this year I went to start using Google Ads again and noticed that Google has made significant changes. I’m all for change, but Google has significantly complicated the crap out of Google Ads. I used to be able to set up various campaigns in a relatively short period of time. Now it’s taking more than a day and becoming a complete waste of time. One of the major strengths of Google Ads was its simplicity. In fact that is commented on a few times in the CNBC Documentary a few years ago “Inside the Mind of Google”. A small business should never have to hire an ad team to create these ad campaigns that they were once able to do quite easily themselves before.

Begin with Pmax, forget the standard search IMO so the AI learns from day one, It may take longer to optimise but results will come - Been doing Google Ads for 18 years! Don't be afraid to have more than one Pmax Campaign depending on your categories/themes.

I am constantly moving unwanted keywords to the negative list. It has over 4000 neg. keywords now. But what to do with keywords that are related somehow? I moved them to my keywords, but now I have 624 keywords. What to do, when I do not want them in negative or positive keyword lists?

Have you experienced this issue Aaron? Even if location is set to people in a certain city (not interested in), lately I've gotten searches from completely unrelated cities. It seems like Google is showing the ads to people outside my selection. And it's awful for local businesses.

Excluding other locations helps to some degree, as well as adding some locations to negative keywords. Something tells me the issue is in how these "in or regularly in presence" might work.

@@Nora-B Yes same happened to me, I kept getting clicks from an excluded location only to find my Campaign Target settings were Set to the recommended Presence or interest option. When I switched to the other one (Presence: People in or regularly in your targeted locations) Problem solved!

How are you able to know that google has identified keywords as having the same meaning? In other wording, how did you know that google would see the same meaning for gym management software, health club software, and fitness software so that you could combine them into one group?

Probably by looking at the "search terms". It can give some ideas, about what Google (AI) can identify as the same or close meaning keywords. I'm more curious, about how it's possible to add all these terms to one ad group that has the same landing page and still have a good Quality Score...

Im only doing search ads shopping ads is too risky as far a buying intent cost is way too high 1.80 per click 1800 keywords to sort through our ad pops up for that might be negative, our Facebook we only paying 28 cents per click for the same audience pmax sounds good for remarking
