I loved your video! It would be great if you could do an updated video like this becuase I heard a lot of things have changed and are cchaning at Google in the next few months. Thanks again for the simple explanation. This is a lot to take in.

Excellent tutorial. Things changed roughly June of 2021 and i've been slowly making more sense of it. Seems less about the keywords now and more about the meaning of the search. Once you understand that, its a whole different ball game.

Regarding conversion tracking, what if the end result of the campaign is just a form submission? We aren't selling anything directly, but are using Google Ads to get leads for custom quotes. Should conversion value be turned off in this case?

5:!9 If you already know your market well enough, then target phrase match right away? I always thought to target broad first if you know nothing about your market, and see what comes up.

Thank you for your video! If I use Phrase Match with a keyword phrase that consist of three words, e.g. “buy ren umbrella”, how I can insure that Google with NOT show ads to searches that are missing on word, e.g. buy umbrella, red umbrella and etc. (That is what happening in my campaigns now.) I don’t want to use exact match because [buy red umbrella] would eliminate all the long tail words, like buy red umbrella now, or buy red umbrella in Toronto. I know I can use Negative Words with exact match, e.g. [red umbrella], to eliminate those combinations, but I wanted to know if there any more sophisticated way to control?

Phrase Match will insure that all words or their variants are included, you might face this problem in broad match not Phrase match

Shouldn't you exclude the exact match version of farmhouse curtains in your phrase match Ad Group? Seems to take traffic and results away from your Exact Match Ad Group.

Excellent! Can you also help us understand application, syntax and all the details like you have done with these keyword types about modifiers? Especially as it is today. +key phrase, "+key phrase", "+keyterm +keyterm key term" and [+key phrase]? I am missing some information on these

Is there any pros and cons to adding a lot of phrase keywords that are very similar for the same adset? (As an example: if you were to include "farmhouse curtains", farmhouse curtains linen" "farmhouse curtains tasteful" farmhouse curtains for sale", etc.)

Great explanation... I am still confused... You have created 3 ads groups with same keyword but different match type... Here the keywords will not conflict to each ad group... And have you created same ads copies for these 3 ad groups? I want to know have you added any negative keywords as well like exact in pharas match group... Please explain...

Are you sure about what you stated concerning the phrase match ? It turns out as though it's similar to broad match according to what you said ! This isn't what I found in other videos. They said that when you use phrase match, the ad won't be triggered unless the search query include the same phrase, but it's okey to have additional words behind or in front of the specified phrase. Who is right of you ?

I need to update this video, but phrase match doesn't need to use the exact phrase, it just needs to have a similar meaning. I think it gives a good balance between broad match and exact match keywords for most campaigns.

Smart bidding loves broad match. As you start a smart bidding campaign you will get in a couple of days a recommendation telling you to switch all your keywords to broad match. I think that in a couple of years it will be the only useful match type.
